1. Texts being referred to as "content" as if they were pre-packaged like frozen foods.
2. A Houston hospital having listed newborns as "obstetrics products".
3. Being assigned to write "mission statements" in elementary school. (True story. Actually, the whole notion that grade school focuses less on educating and more on preparing/assimilating/accelerating youth culture into an increasingly corporate world probably counts here, too, but that's a bit broad.)
