I have done precisely zero living in my life, aside from the usual shuffle and grind. I guess I could continue living life like that, finally passing away at 90 with a whole list of things from the "you should do this in order to live a normal life" list but not a single thing on the "really exciting stuff" list. If I could only get over my intimidation of entering into things that would qualify for said list, I would get to start living "a full life".

i've done almost everything that i had in my mental list of 'things i really want to try out before i'm 30'. the only thing left is to go on an extended backpacking holiday on my own. and i'm already planning that for after i graduate from uni next year (i'll already be 30 then, but only by a couple of months). so i guess i feel that yes, i have led a very full life so far. and it's been absolutely ace! completely looking forward to doing the same for the next 30 years. my theory is, life is bloody short and very transient, and you should grab onto the things you want and the opportunities offered to you with both hands.

I don't feel like I've lived a full life at all. I spent most of it doing the stuff I felt like I was supposed to do because I had no idea what to do with myself otherwise. There were always things that I thought were interesting in theory, but I just didn't see myself actually doing them. Always seemed like the kind of thing that someone else would do, but not me. Then I got really depressed, fucked up a relationship, and rarely left my apartment for about a year other than to go to work. Nowadays, though, I'm actually in a generally positive frame of mind. I still have no idea what i want to do with my life, but I'm actually getting out and trying things and not dwelling on what I haven't done. I'll be going to Guatemala for a month starting next month, and I'm really looking forward to that (I'm going to start a thread about it, I think). It's a pretty nice feeling to actually enjoy things again.

This is something that I tend to give myself a hard time about. In all, I haven't done that badly I suppose, but I always feel like I should be doing more.

If living a full life means overindulging in booze and drugs, I've certainly done my fair share of that, but that's not what a full life is to me. A fun life, maybe!

I've had periods of this, and periods of the opposite - staying home, living the inner life, not communicating much with anyone else. They're not actually that different, really. You're still youself, and time flies either way. You can't help but life a full life though, surely? As long as you're conscious, you're experiencing something, and as long as you're experiencing something, you're filling yourself up.
