There are sociological considerations. Like, isn't a preacher inherently sort of upper middle class? And therefore, more likely to have an educated child? Possibly, more likely to have an educated, conflicted child, because the parent's emphasis on ethics might conflict with the child's growing awareness of the 'unfairness' of their class position. Maybe!

like Tracer, I'm the son of a preacher -- in my case, the son of a preacher mom -- I'm fabulously adjusted, of course, and no, that shit doesn't necessarily matter. It can, though. But personally, I think my own inevitable hangups might be just as related to the fact that my dad's a school principal, and I went to his school for ten years.

when I was a kid, my mom used to hang with the preacher's family. As his son was older than my sis and i, he would watch us while the adults were out or in the other room. He'd tie me to a chair and torture me while my sister watched or was bullied into participating.
Then we played video games!
turns out my mom had a crush on the preacher's wife and decided the preacher was abusive and fucked up, then we went to another church.

No, they taught me the hebrew alphabet and they made us draw on a sheet of paper with a pencil and then try to erase it completely to show that only god could do that (?). Except I did manage to erase mine totally and I was convinced for some time that I was some sort of deity.
