so some of you may remember last week, on Monday, I posted saying my doctor said I had a spontaneous pneumothorax (collapsed lung). When I went to hospital they said I was fine, and I got all tested etc, and nothing.
I have still felt bad since and went back to my doctor on Thursday and he said I'm fine, did more tests and decided I must have a virus of some kind.
I am so bored of being sick and feeling bad, I am short of breath and weak for the last ten days or so, and I don't even know what's wrong! I am fairly happy that it's nothing serious, I've had all the tests afterall, but I have barely been outside the house in the last 10 days. I'm going in to work today, I don't feel at all well enough but I just need to test myself and feel like I've something to do.
I keep wondering if it's normal to have a mystery virus for almost 2 weeks. But I was tested and both my doctor and the hospital said I'm fine.
Mostly I am just so sick of feeling sick, and of having to say "no still sick" when friends ask me if I want to come out or someone asks me to do something for work or for the club I play at.
Plus all this happens after my gf has moved back to Scotland and I feel awful almost pretending I feel better cos she's all worried on the phone etc, not worried in a serious way but still.
This sucks so bad, I have been trying so hard each day to be positive and think "yeah I'll feel better tomorrow" but I don't.

this thread is very whiney I know but I have seen very few people in the last 10 days!

Aw don't worry Ronan, it sounds horrible. And yes, viruses can last for a while - not much consolation but at least it's normal.
Take care dude.

It's really important that you take the time to get over this and don't push yourself too hard. I don't want to frighten you but this sounds a bit like M.E. (hopefully it isn't) but if it is, your best chance of full recovery is to do exactly what you're body is telling you to do i.e. rest.
Actually, ignore the M.E. bit. It's way too early to say if that's what it is. Taking time to recuperate is key though.

Yeah I've been off basically every day (apart from yesterday and 3 hours on Saturday) for 10 or 11 days. I definitely feel worse after doing my Sunday job yesterday though.

Best of luck Ronan.
It is a sad indictment of our high-tech times that when I opened this thread I was confused by all this talk about bodily illness as opposed to computer malfunction.

I think oddly, I feel alot better after working yesterday. I felt awful on the way in but alot better after and feel more relaxed today though there are traces of the symptoms still there.
I talked to my doctor yesterday and he said maybe I am under stress, I couldn't really think of any major stress factors but he said it could be subconscious, and I should go for a long walk.

that is a bit wtf, he said long walks and other stuff are good, not just "you are under stress. you should go for a long walk".
