This was a particularly bad example not knowing whether it was a highbrow trailer for the film (it was), a discussion of Tolkein the man (poorly done) a discussion of Tolkeins work (equally poorly done) or a bunch of weird beards sitting around confirming the belief that anyone who likes Tolkein is a weird beard. Oddly the person who came out best was Pratchett - until he got to read his own stuff out which was frankly embaressing (and probably not his own idea).
There is a good four part Channel Four series in the history of fantasy which would not only rehabilitate it somewhat but also condemn that which needs to be knocked down. This certainly wasn't it. But at least it did not contain Jonathon Ross's Elvish joke.
