On the one hand, Russians don't have the money others do, so 1 dollar per track will only chase all of them into complete illegality. On the other hand, as long as westerners can buy music there for peanuts, it'll be unfair for the western download sites/companies.
So? Allow the site but only let Russians buy music for Russian prices. (how? ip check can be fooled, email addresses can be faked - can bank accounts be faked?) (and can we please stop imposing our laws, politics and ideas on supposedly sovereign countries and peoples, the way this is continually happening doesn't help global peace at all, IMHO.)

yeah i'm sure putin's russia would be a fuckin "sovereign" paragon of all nations if we justn stopped ragging on their mp3 trade. cos russia's geopolitical use of its energy reserves in no way constitutes interference (of a somewhat more fundamental kind) in the rest of europe.
