Hmmm, Tuomas raises a good point. Should cyborgs count? I mean, when Arnie's Terminator was stripped of all that flesh, he sure looked like a robot to me. But what about those skin jobs in Blade Runner? "More human than human", as I recall.

I think that androids count as robots, mind you. Star Trek's Data is basically a robot.

And HAL is a computer, not a robot. Geez.
