as previously discussed... it is surely now time for the DOCTOR WHO 2005 MARATHON hurrah! it has been long enough since it ended for it not to be too soon, and short enough that we will know all the tricksy bits and yell "NONONO DON'T TRUST HIM!" and "GO THAT WAY! NOT THERE!" and "it means BAD WOLF do you see, DO YOU- ARGH!" and generally be too knowing by half, and CONSIRACY THEORISE at each other! yeah... so in our house (in dalston in hackney in london) we have one big white wall and the other emma can borrow a projector off work and i have the episodes all on cd and we can watch them allllll in a row and the daleks will be MASSIVE and we can all eat loads of crisps and drink loads of bouze and nip to the garden for a calmdown with the cat from down the road if it all gets too much. this needs to happen on a weekend, obv. i am suggesting the 5th/6th/7th one, but i think we should find one when everyone who wants to come can come. also i reckon there are 2 ways to do it - start between 4 and 7pm and go til people start falling asleep, then do the rest the next morning with a massive fryup, or start about midday (ambitious i feel!) and finish around midnight. or we could split it over 2 weekends but that's nowhere near as good.

morning! yes it's summer again and it's raining so it must be my birthday soon. hurrah! this year we get to have a party 3x the size we normally do because not only is it MINE, but in the house i moved into there also lives a SILKE whose birthday is ten days before mine and a JOERG whose birthday is in winter and he's fed up with it so we have made him Queen of Dalston so he is allowed two birthdays. clever, huh? huh? HUH? pfffft, whatever...
anyway. yes. the party is THIS SATURDAY, that is JULY 30TH, and it is IN OUR HOUSE which as any fule kno is TOP SECRET and is gettable to by overground to dalston kingsland; tube to old st/bethnal green/highbury & islington and then a bus; and buses 30, 38, 56, 67, 76, 242, 243, 277 and probably a shitload more i'm forgetting.
so because it's summer and it's raining we thought it would be a good idea to have a barbecue, hey yeah. so the plan is to start trying to light it at about 3.30/4 in the afternoon, then burn everything to a crisp (i just didn't want you to get diseases from squiggly things what live in cows' tummies, honest) and phone the pizzapeople-er no no no, we are all top outdoor cookery jiggery pokery experts! this earliness is good cos it means if you have stuff to do already that evening you can still make it if you want to - i guess some of you will be fapping, feel free to join the party pre- or post-fap (or both), no doubt we will be up talking crap in the garden til daylight.
bring yourself, bring your friends, bring what makes you happy, bring things to barbecue if you want. no whole suckling pigs, ta. there will be a meaty bit and a non meaty bit.

sunday is a 14th. i am in oslo for oyafest from 9th-14th anyway. for me - this weekend is taken, the next one - SHIT i have just realised i have gigs on the 5th and the 6th. i don't have to go to them but i'd like to - the next free day after that is aug 26th/27th (the fri and sat of reading, assuming i'm only going for the sunday) and bank holiday monday 29th, then the first weekend in sep is free i think.

Ah well. I will probably be at the same Reading Sunday as you (but she will probably drag me around town drinking with Stooges and not be very keen to watch geeky sci fi if she is around). And one of those other weekends we're going to Cambridge. Oh dear.

I've just realised that I've got a gig the first weekend of September. Which puts Who-watching and boat-hiring a bit out of the question.
Argh. 6th might be good, but I do need to go and visit my relatives soon and I keep putting it off and I was thinking of going on that day if they're not off holidaying somewhere.
