The options are -

POVERTY: as in you are broke
GHOULS: as in they are arguably fictitious entities

Which is scariest? I'll let you decide on the parameters. For instance, it may be a case of there being just one rather charming ghoul who poses little threat, OR you may need to borrow some money for the next round in the pub cos you don't get paid Thursday.
On the other hand, you may be forced to choose between dying of starvation and suffering from rabid ebola with no hope other than to drink dirty toilet water mixed with snot OR being in constant fear of having your lungs ripped out by quasi-daemons every time you try and go to sleep.
