years ago a doctor told me i had a mild allergy to milk but not to worry about it, and i didn't, and i had no problems. but lately i can't eat one piece of cheese without my digestive system turning into a warzone. (tmi? sorry. do your best not to picture it.)

i wonder if this is part of the allergy, or if my body just suddenly decided it didn't like dairy anymore.

Hey cindy me too, but my Dr said that allergies/ intolerances can just suddenly develop/ worsen with age.

this happened to me once and I avoided dairy religiously (lotsa stuff has whey, watch out!) for three months to let my stomach heal, and it did!

eighteen years pass...

Never been entirely sure that I was lactose intolerant (have hated milk forever, don't eat cereal) or if my tummy troubles have been more generalized.

Bought two La Colombe draft lattes over the last couple of days because the other coffee option was Starbucks cigarette ash water, I definitely do not tolerate lactose well.

some people w/ ibs can handle milk fermented but not fresh, so there's a posdibility you're still all right for cheese, if that's of any interest
