(Read "too" as indicating skinny or fat to the point of being unhealthy and unattractive)

In the too skinny, you have weakness and sometimes pickiness about food.In the too fat, you have takes for fucking ever to walk somewhere and maybe breathing too hard.
So, seeing as I like to walk a lot and at a fast pace, I'm gwon hafta go with too skinny - I mean, if I have to choose, and I don't.

with being too skinny, it sucks to suddenly feel like you have all these extra uncomfortable bones, but then you can quest for pizza and takeout and stuff you will have the appetite for because of the need to gain/maintain weight.
― juliaaa, Wednesday, 3 August 2005 13:38 (twenty years ago)
Friends, it doesn't really matter either way. (personal prejudice alert) I'd rather hang around with fatter people (who are comfortable with their weight) because they seem to be more willing to have fun, eat, drink, not worry about it. While the skinny people I know seem to constantly be fussing about their food issues and whinging about non-existent asses.
SO's... well, that's kind of a thorny issue, always, isn't it? I think I would have a problem getting involved with someone who was terribly obese, because I'd be worried about their health. But then again, I've dated terribly thin people with anorexia/eating issues, and that wasn't exactly great either. On a purely aesthetic level, I think I'd probably go for the terribly thin person, if I had to choose.
But in real life, the actual physical type I go for is lanky with an "I Am Well Fed" belly. Mmmm, belly.

This is true. Also, I've been blonde and I've been brunette, and noticed that blondes are treated better.
It's easier to be blonder than to be thinner, though. ;-)

Yes, I'd agree. I think I'd also pick being too skinny as there seems to be less health problems associated with that than being too fat.

Hrrrm. Not sure about the stereotype, but it's an old one - the "jolly fat man" and all that. When I'm thinner, I have more confidence and want to do more stuff. But there's not so much eating and drinking involved. I suppose it's not so much that fatter people are jolly, but that skinny people are such PICKY FUN-HATREZ. Skinny people will never go and get a pint of ice cream with you when you need it. Skinny people will never get that last round in that you really shouldn't.
So it's not that fat people are jolly. THIN PEOPLE HATE FUN!!!

i'm lucky in that i don't really put on weight no matter how much i eat.not all thin people are no-fun. some of them are no fun. i'm not really into 'jolliness' anyway. i prefer sardonic, misanthropic sociopaths for company.

Seriously though, I used to weigh around 250 lbs, which was waaaaaaaaaay too fat. My lowest was 175, which was nice, but not quite nice enough. Right now I'm right at 200, which sucks donkeys.

Also, people assume you're unhealthy cos you've got a bit of weight but that's not true. Some of the most unhealthy I've been was when I was thinner, not related to being thin, but people assume you're a paragin of physical virtue. Ugh.

However, she has stopped menestrating because her body fat ratio is so low that her body is trying to protect her from pregnancy. Ironically, the resulting low levels of estrogen put her at high risk for osteoporosis.
My friend and I were discussing this. We agreed that this wasn't an entirely healthy state of affairs, but that the list of diseases and undesirable conditions associated with obesity were as long as your arm and much, much worse than the problems his daughter was facing. Given a (falsely dichotomous) choice between over-exercise and obesity, exercise came out way on top.

i used to be skinny. chances are that i weigh more than anyone here, but i'm also taller, so it fits, more or less. i eat fairly healthily and excercise, so i'm not too worried about it. it would be nice to lose some, though.
