So my old housemate Juju went on a road trip around the same time I did my vacation and one of her photos was of this thing in Alexandria, Indiana:

More info here.

I'm speechless, but intrigued.

Ed (dali), Sunday, 7 August 2005 16:21 (twenty years ago)

It's a beautiful world we live in!

When they finish painting, I'd love to see it cut in half.

But are they same ball? The ball in the picture isn't the same colour as the one on the website!

Tuomas (Tuomas), Sunday, 7 August 2005 16:24 (twenty years ago)

Hold on... A ball of paint... You never read the last post.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Sunday, 7 August 2005 16:26 (twenty years ago)

i thought you were camping, ed?

charltonlido (gareth), Sunday, 7 August 2005 16:39 (twenty years ago)

Who needs camping when there's this?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 7 August 2005 16:46 (twenty years ago)

going tuesday evening

I'm disappointed that they started out with a baseball. I'd be more impressed if they balled up the film of paint that's left on dried buckets and then started adding on to that - 100% pure paint.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Sunday, 7 August 2005 17:17 (twenty years ago)

What? 19,000 coats of paint not good enough for you?

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Sunday, 7 August 2005 17:22 (twenty years ago)

What demons drive them on?

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 7 August 2005 17:46 (twenty years ago)

I see this as a challenge

gear (gear), Sunday, 7 August 2005 17:49 (twenty years ago)

seven months pass...
Hi Ned, Dunno what to think of the paintball, but at least we share a surname.

Hi there! There aren't enough of us in the world. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 25 March 2006 09:55 (twenty years ago)

It would be more impressive if he had covered his silly body with all that paint. Still, I'm sure he's going to heaven for this. Think of the possiblities of covering or collecting all things : the worlds biggest booger for example, years of amassing it. The worlds most frozen livers. The worlds biggest pile of dandruff. The worlds most nice pie.

The worlds biggest pile of dandruff

Gee, thanks, ya spoilsport. There goes my big surprise. *reluctantly fetches the vacuum cleaner*

i love how mike's carelessly-discarded jacket, with its lurid plaid inlay, steals attention in this photograph.

i am not a nugget (stevie), Saturday, 25 March 2006 17:45 (twenty years ago)

It does? (I didn't notice it at all until you said something!)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 25 March 2006 17:52 (twenty years ago)

i have been staring at computer screen for the many many hours at this point, however.

i also love the 'wet paint' sign in the top right corner.

These people look considerably less happy and impressed than JuJu. Maybe the red paint smells horrid and the purple paint smells nice?

StanM (StanM), Saturday, 25 March 2006 17:58 (twenty years ago)

more likely fast-impending 'moment of clarity' regarding their life's work.

Stevie rather OTM there. Juju, after all, merely had to visit it briefly.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 25 March 2006 19:08 (twenty years ago)

The real point of concern in that second photo -- THE EVIL CLOWNS.
