Having All The Cheese in the World
What if I had all the Emmental. All Gouda and all Brie? All Cheddar and all Babybels? All creamy dairylea? I'd put an end to famine, With all the cheese I've got, I'd stuff all guns with Feta-cheese, So no-one else gets shot. With Wensleydale I'd build a bridge, Between all waring creeds, They'd forget about which side they're on, And fulfill their dairy needs. So Anchor, Kraft and Dairylea, Bring on world peace, please. Governments don't control the world, The power is in cheese.
By Me

the bits about feasting and fast days in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight are v excellent if you happen to like alliterative mediaeval poetry all about knights and FOOD with loads of thorns and yoghs in. which i DO hurrah! IIRC Chaucer had lots of things to say on the subject also, though cant think of any apart from the nun, who fed her dogs scraps of white bread. they were also eating off those whatdoyoucallums, those big loaves of bread that doubled as plates. were they called trenchers? them, anyhow. they sound fun. i want one.
