This may sound incredibly naive/thick, but what the hell are you supposed to say when you get a vaguely (and I do mean vaguely, not totally kinky weird) sexy text message from someone you really like? I am an emotional oddball anyway, but I have no idea what would sound good as opposed to just ignoring it or going way too far. Plus, I have a massive fear that it was sent by someone else from the same phone just to take the piss out of me and any reply would end up in hysterical tale-telling for years to come. Help me ILX!

I'd think of a way to comment on the sexiness in a humorous or friendly way ("if you keep sending me texts like that, I'll have to go home and take a cold shower" - um, or something shorter so it doesn't take 15 minutes to text). If it's really someone else, they can't really mock you for that as much as, say, "do me baby"

the longer you wait the worse it will get... if you reply faster and it's real, you're on the same page and just spared a lot of wasted time; if it's not real, the longer you wait to respond, the more they'll know your shitting yourself over what to say. at least that's how i see it...

I think as long as the response is not really long and convoluted, a lengthy delay can express coolness and intrigue, rather than unsexxy deliberation. Mind you, if they already know you're a neurotic geek then this might not work.
