It's too bad. Like the article says they've been rebuilding that church and holding annual funding drives for decades now. I hope the Children's Fountain is okay. That thing is too weird to be destroyed.

It's a socially active church and surprisingly 'local' feeling for a cathedral-- regular and involved parishoners. I took my late dog there for the feast of St Francis when we lived on the UWS. I'm not a Christian but he was, and terrorized a spider monkey.
