how do i find which ones to chose ?

If possible, find a gym that is walking distance from your house -- even if it's not a great gym. Going out of your way to go to a gym on a regular basis will burn you out pretty quickly. Then again, that's assuming you're as lazy as me.

Just make sure you pick one that plays good music. That or bring your walkman to drown out the jock rock.

ask around for the cruisiest weight room, and the most 'active' sauna rooms...

You will never ever hear good music at a gym, Anthony, so don't bother looking for that. Isn't there a gym at your school? I'd go for a family-oriented gym if not. There's less preening and, uh, body fascism I think they call it. Try to get one that's month-to-month, without a long commitment. DON'T join a Bally's, if they have them up there. DO join the Y, if they have them up there and if they've put some effort into fixing it up in the last 50

Yeah, the 'Y' or some public park programs have gyms. You'll find less attitude at those places. Anthony, aren't you in school? Maybe your school has a fitness center? Those places are good, too - they're usually filled with college students in baggy sweats.

tbf the last time I ever went in a gym was ten years ago, and it resulted in me falling off a treadmill twice inside three seconds, so libcom, fly free and far on this one

(those free park gyms are cute, he obviously doesn't mean those)
