Mr Noodles, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

anthony, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

operating system?

Mr Noodles, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

windows .

anthony, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

If its windows 2000 ,it probably came with a program called Adaptec Easy cd Creator, if so start up that program and there will be an option called "Spin Doctor" which is fairly straight forward to use otherwise if you dont have the Apdaptec program what have you been using to make cdrs so far?

Once you get past the opening crap and gobbly gook there are some good pointers.

i have used apadtec but it refuses to create cds, i think i have done it right and it either spits out the cds or the cds are blank .

anthony, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

otherwise you'll need to fin something like this Good Old Tucows

and since Im being all computer geeky I'd just like to mention that I finished up my networking project and succesfully networked a coffee maker and made a webpage for anyone to see how long the coffee pot has been on. eCoffee I call it.

Mr Noodles, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

so the cdr reads but wont right?

Mr Noodles, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

yep, that seems to be the problem , but sometimes it wont even read, jsut spits it out and i cannot seem to play music cds on my drive either.

anthony, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

problem is with the drive, why didn't you say so. Provided you have the driver disks or they are installed on the hard disk you probably want to reinstall the driver. Check the appropriate section of the control panel depending on your system.

Its also important that you turn off the screen saver and antivirus software while burning. Those two have killed many a burn.

Mr Noodles, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

how do i reinstall the drive . thank you noodles .

anthony, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Depends on the exact type of windows, early 95/98 you can remove the drive through the "Device Manager" window in the Systems area of the control panel, in ME/2000 I believe its done through right clicking on My computer or somethign screwy like that. If you know you have the correct drivers available 100% sure, then you could hope that by removing the drives and rebooting that the computer sorts out its internal issuse and the problem fixes itself. Its one of the few things Windows seems to be any good at 95% of the time. Other things to check to see if the drive is installed multiple times which is common occurance of silly problems.
Im not sure I could help you more without seeing the computer.

Mr Noodles, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i scheduled a tech appointment tommorow.

anthony, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Sarah, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Friend of mine was talking about the iPOD (Apple MP3 playah). Sounds great (in every way).

helenfordsdale, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Sadly its only available over Linux at the moment. Working on the remote turn on/off, it requires a part I just cant get in Sackville. Right now the coffees been on for 57 minutes (ok so its minus 15m cause Im using a hunk of shit thats int he lab with a broken clock but thats ok).
