Star of a kind of swashbuckling soap opera shown on PBS in the 70s called Poldark. Showed up on Fawlty Towers as what- an undercover cop? What else did he do? Who is this guy? Do Brits even know?

Ah, back when actors had immaculate diction. Poldark was certainly his peak - huge in the UK, as several 28-y-o Rosses and Demelzas will tell you. Better that than "Justin" or "Britney". Maybe.

His main IMDB entry stops at 1994; my last audio encounter with him was when he provided the voiceover for a series of Andalucian Village tourist promos. He deviated from the (awful) script, bless him.
