"So drink a 26er on the 25th,
Then on boxing day return your shitty gifts,
Not only can you find out what the cheapo bastards payed,
You can by another bottle for New Year's Day.

" Merry christmas I guess. I still got to mail some things out to people tomorrow.

Mr Noodles, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Will do, Sean. I'll stop there on my way to NYC tomorrow. I think. Is it far from 95?

Arthur, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Uh, no, it's right off the highway, exit 18, I think. But really, don't bother stopping there, I was just kidding. Well, maybe stop there if you're looking to pick someone up, which, to be honest, I always was. Plenty of clean-cut Fairfield County youths to despoil.

Sean, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Have a good holiday, mark s (a deserving winner of all those awards and top fun-fur lemur-duck: apologies for any offensive implication on other threads that this last point was not so!) and Alan (friend in fandom of retrogaming and the much maligned Helen Love) and anyone else about to disappear.

Please come back next year, you all rock, and I may yet manage to come to a meet-up, especially if Sussed returns, so Alan and Sarah should definitely return to these parts to fight over that NES. By next year I might even have found the Megadrive. I... I... I wuv you aaaaaalll! *sobs tipsily into umpteenth glass of Chrimbo sherry and bowlful of brandy butter with mince pie submerged underneath, falls over into large pile of pine needles*

Rebecca, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What, like I'd miss you?

*Turns around to leave, then frantically chases after train blowing kisses, bangs on window, then comedically dives off end of platform, falling into a bottomless Chickenbear mine*

Graham, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(Rebecca, I'm even more iintrigued by meeting you now it turns out you wuv The Mighty 'Love too)

Graham, Wednesday, 19 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Now I'm really intrigued Sean. I was expecting a posh soccer mom hangout. Will it be happening at 11 a.m.?

Arthur, Thursday, 20 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Arthur (I like how this is becoming our personal thread; everyone else does it why can't we), the Brook is the second oldest gay bar in the country. It's small and sort of rickety. Since it was also in my CT hometown, I thought it was pretty corny, but I went there a lot anyway. Actually, it is corny. Since it's right off the highway, it was always crowded, though. I got lucky constantly through my early 20's, but I had to kind of camouflage myself with polo shirts and boat shoes. It's a way better spot than, say, anywhere in White Plains or Danbury (but not New Haven cuz of all the Yale students). It certainly will not be busy (or even open) at 11:00 a.m. You're going to New York, so why bother?
