feeling like shit

I have been down for months and I don't know what to do. At first I thought I would feel better soon but its just taking so long. I have been on the apathetic-to-negative side of things continually. Talking about it doesn't seem to help, thats all I have been doing since it started and I don't feel any better. Will drugs work? If so, how can I get them? Does anyone have any other pointers for making me feel better? Will it ever go away?

Clean your house (or move house). Take work less seriously. Rid yourself of destructive relationships. Eat better. Let yourself do something completely hedonistic now and then. Try to be less introspective. Spend time with your pets (or get one if you don't already).

I've tried all of these. Seems to have vaguely worked.

Also get more exercise.

Hi secret squirrel, Try to go dor walks in the sunshine and if that doesn't work, pehapd you'd consider putting brighter lights in your home. if the lights are too dim it could bring on depression. I would see your Dr and ask for a non-habit forming drug called ZOLOFT they are anti depressents, and they do work well. But always see a dr before taking anything ok? Hugs

thank you for the advice so far. i will try cleaning my house. i get anough exercise and eat pretty well and i don't take my work too seriously. i could probably use some more sunlight though. maybe a holiday will do me good. hmmm, ridding my life of destructive relationships could help, but that is a lot harder than it sounds.

anti depressants are ok, especially if you need to even out mood swings. as far as possible treat yourself and develop a clearer vision of the faults of those who are attempting to make you feel bad. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon

make sure you get plenty of sleep, and try Stress B vitamins.

I asked about this a while ago - and some of the responses might be helpful. Best of luck!

Hi Squirrel!

In addition to all these good suggestions, I would recommend random acts of kindness to strangers. Let someone cut in front of you in a traffic lane or in a line, hold a door open, greet a cashier with a big smile and a "how are you?" Feeling like you've made another person's day in any way better just for the sake of it can feel nice.

I've been there, too, Thursday, 20 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)
