This is probably the coolest thing that has ever happened to me.

God I hope Total Network Solutions are playing.

ILX SHOUT OUT

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Thursday, 1 September 2005 20:40 (nineteen years ago)

Fantastic! I would feel hugely honoured!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 1 September 2005 20:58 (nineteen years ago)

I believe Onorthosis Famagusta are scheduled to play a thrilling tie against Pirin 1922 of Blagoevgrad for the chance to face Szazhalombatta.

Good luck.

I don't doubt it, my friend, I don't doubt it (nordicskilla), Thursday, 1 September 2005 21:04 (nineteen years ago)

I guess it couldn't really be thrilling if it hasn't happened yet.

I don't doubt it, my friend, I don't doubt it (nordicskilla), Thursday, 1 September 2005 21:05 (nineteen years ago)

I am very worried about the Welsh league.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 September 2005 21:07 (nineteen years ago)

Aren't we all? It's certainly going to be close this year.

I don't doubt it, my friend, I don't doubt it (nordicskilla), Thursday, 1 September 2005 21:07 (nineteen years ago)

Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk are still in Europe - fun!

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 1 September 2005 22:18 (nineteen years ago)

East Fife 5 Forfar 4.

Marvellous, Matt. Score Interactive, yes? I don't usually hang around until the invitational Final Score rerun, but I'll be taping this. Will it be Sat 10/9?

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Thursday, 1 September 2005 22:19 (nineteen years ago)

Do the Danny Baker thing where he read out the full classified scores based on team sponsors.

"Rebecca's Jewellers 2 ... Hendrie's Van Hire 0"

Si.C@rter (SiC@rter), Thursday, 1 September 2005 22:31 (nineteen years ago)

Stenhousemuir 4, Cowdenbeath 0

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 2 September 2005 07:46 (nineteen years ago)

Aren't they called "Cowdenbeathnil"?

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 2 September 2005 07:55 (nineteen years ago)

i shall complain to the bbc abt perceived spurs bias

(congrats, matt!)

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Friday, 2 September 2005 08:09 (nineteen years ago)

This is brilliant! How'd you get it?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 2 September 2005 08:52 (nineteen years ago)

Jesus, how did you pull this one off?!?!? I warn you now, if you pronounce Greenock Morton as Grenock Morton, you will have a fatwa issued on you by the Greenock & Port Glasgow Council of Neds

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 2 September 2005 08:55 (nineteen years ago)

Incorrectly pronouncing Greenock Morton is an essential traditional part of reading out the scores.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 2 September 2005 08:58 (nineteen years ago)

A bit like "football pundits" referring to Dundee United as Dundee?

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 2 September 2005 08:59 (nineteen years ago)

Well done! Do they give you inflection training?

Pete W (peterw), Friday, 2 September 2005 09:00 (nineteen years ago)

Keep and eye out for Newi Cefn Druids in the League of Wales. And start working on Llanelli now, otherwise you'll offend a whole principality.

Hello Sunshine (Hello Sunshine), Friday, 2 September 2005 09:04 (nineteen years ago)

Clan-eth-lee, right?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 2 September 2005 09:20 (nineteen years ago)

Chhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhlan-eth-lee

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 2 September 2005 09:21 (nineteen years ago)

"Clan-eth-lee, right?"

That's about as close to it as you can get using English phonetics. I think the best way to get the first Ll sound is to say "cl" while pushing your tounge against the back of your front teeth. Or something.

Hello Sunshine (Hello Sunshine), Friday, 2 September 2005 09:26 (nineteen years ago)

... and just be grateful Auchtermuchty don't have a team in the Socttish League

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 2 September 2005 09:28 (nineteen years ago)

Mulngavie 2, Belvoir Castle 1
Stroud 0, Beaulieu 3
Drogheda 4, Dun Laoghaire 7 (seven)

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:16 (nineteen years ago)

"Brackets! We got BRACKETS!"

Hello Sunshine (Hello Sunshine), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:19 (nineteen years ago)

Jesus, how did you pull this one off?!?!?

I met a girl in the pub, she had a boyfriend, he works on the BBC's interactive sport service. We clicked. Funnily enough the male temp from the first series of The Office was round the table as well.

How do you pronounce Greenock Morton then? You are of course aware I'll be asking you all the difficult ones in the intervening weeks.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:21 (nineteen years ago)

Pronounce it exactly the way you don't pronounce Greenwich.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:23 (nineteen years ago)

when I hear the "nal" missed off Arsenal, I'll know it's you.

Fantastic.

Matt (Matt), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:25 (nineteen years ago)

"Greenuck". It was easier when they were just called Morton.

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:26 (nineteen years ago)

Tottenham Hotspur, still a big team 0, Chelsea 4

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:28 (nineteen years ago)

I want Matt to say "The Arsenal" for Arsenal.

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:30 (nineteen years ago)

x-post

But Spurs have got Liverpool at home on the 10th (if it is the 10th you're doing it), so the chance to gloat on a fine home win is too good to miss.

Personally, I'm all for a bit of Spurs bias on the media. Someone has got to balance out Alan Hansen (and don't mention Lineker...He's too busy upping Leicester to have a go at Hansen's anti-Spurs tirades)

Guilty Boksen (Bro_Danielson), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:35 (nineteen years ago)

also say "walsall" as "warsaw"

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:39 (nineteen years ago)

"Manchester Divided..."

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:55 (nineteen years ago)

Matt has been the spawniest person I know for the last three years.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:55 (nineteen years ago)

What does 'spawniest' mean? Do I want to know?

I want to tell my Motty story here, but I think I'll save it for the pub first.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 2 September 2005 11:00 (nineteen years ago)

Spawny Get = Jammy Arab

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 2 September 2005 11:02 (nineteen years ago)
