Commercial Breaks: Leave the channel on Vs. Changing the channel

I hit MUTE and read a book until the ads are over, a good way to go through catalogs and not-quite-junk mail in your spare time.

I mute them too, unless there are two shows I am watching then I jump to the other channel. Fortunately, it isn't like the old days where everyone had an running at the same time. Cable and network are staggered so you can watch two shows in between the ads. I like the idea of being constructive while mute is on tho, Laurel.

I normally leave the ads on cause I hate to miss even a few seconds when the programme restarts. If the Crazy Frog or Michael Winner or something comes on then I'll turn over without hesitation.

same as laurel. if i don't have a book or my computer to check e-mail, then i switch (food network if nothing else is on).
