... and boyfriends?

the big and the small

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:14 (twenty years ago)

from long-ago and yesterday

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:15 (twenty years ago)

just asking

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:16 (twenty years ago)

Never, apart from the one I was with for 16 years, which is every single second of every single day.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:17 (twenty years ago)

Recent ones and big ones - nearly every day. Why is it I can be so absent minded about important things, and forget my National Insurance Number, housekeys, password, etc - but minor irritations and injuries by men I haven't seen in months or years can stay with me for hours, most days of the week. :-(

Luminiferous Aether (kate), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:26 (twenty years ago)

2nd question: when you do do you often masturbate?

ken c (ken c), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:32 (twenty years ago)

or have sex with someone else but pretend it's your ex!

ken c (ken c), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:33 (twenty years ago)

God no.

Luminiferous Aether (kate), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:35 (twenty years ago)

When I think about exes, it's almost never pleasant.

Luminiferous Aether (kate), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:35 (twenty years ago)

Something can remind me of them, song, film or scenario quite easily. As for how often, every other week. Should we ever really forget them?

As for ken’s question, yes I have thought of an ex while having sex, that’s because the best sex I ever had was with my last long term girlfriend.

not-goodwin (not-goodwin), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:42 (twenty years ago)

2nd question: when you do do you often masturbate?

Ken, you never cease to put a smile on my face. :-)

To answer your question:

1.) Very very rarely.
2.) Never.

nathalie's pocket revolution (stevie nixed), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:44 (twenty years ago)

I didn't know you had ex-girlfriends, Nath...

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:53 (twenty years ago)

How often does Ken put a smile on your face?

1.) Very very rarely.
2.) Never.

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:56 (twenty years ago)

I suppose it's preferable to someone putting a Pet Sounds on your face...

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 9 September 2005 10:58 (twenty years ago)

"Tell me, do you often think about ex-girlfriends when you and you current girlfriend Mike Love?"

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:00 (twenty years ago)

When you think of Mike Love do you masturbate?

Exists there such a person?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:03 (twenty years ago)

He was quite the ladies man, pre-Maharishi and baldness

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:04 (twenty years ago)

Eight wives, two more than Henry VIII!

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:05 (twenty years ago)

Apparently he kept asking them in bed: "What does that gasping and panting mean? Is it relatable to a boy-girl situation? Is it a code for drugs?"

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:06 (twenty years ago)

they were scared that they were gonna get beheaded

ken c (ken c), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:07 (twenty years ago)

"Listen Mike, could we maybe try some different positions, huh honey?"

"Don't fuck with the formula baby"

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:08 (twenty years ago)

Van Dyke Parks picking up chicks:

"Hey, big boy, what'cha doin' tonight?"

"Aeriferous compromises palliative the ruminate carbon."

"Uh, gee, is that the time, I really oughta be goin'..."

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:11 (twenty years ago)

never, there are none. I don't really think of ex-crushes much either, one called into work yesterday. dead to me now.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:12 (twenty years ago)

I don’t really think of them as much as I worry about the police finding their remains.

not-goodwin (not-goodwin), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:14 (twenty years ago)

they're dead to you now

ken c (ken c), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:15 (twenty years ago)

Every now and then. I never stop thinking about my first. I miss him a lot. I don't want to fuck him, I just want him to talk to me again.

Bombed Out and Depleted / Kate (papa november), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:15 (twenty years ago)

Are you saying you're dead to him now?

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:17 (twenty years ago)

In the sense that Al Jardine is dead to Mike Love?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:20 (twenty years ago)

Yes. Pretty much.

Bombed Out and Depleted / Kate (papa november), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:21 (twenty years ago)

I didn't know you had ex-girlfriends, Nath...

Hehe. No, I don't actually. I'm as straight as they come. (This actually made me worry if I was *normal*. In high-school they kept saying:"It's normal for girls to fancy girls! Really!" I kept thinking: "But I bloody don't, should I? God, I'm a freak!")

nathalie's pocket revolution (stevie nixed), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:23 (twenty years ago)

Just often enough to remember why they are exes.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:24 (twenty years ago)

i think i'm very, very lucky not to have any of these. i don't take this kind of thing well and would probably think about them far too much. the very thought of breaking up with somebody nearly makes me break down. i just can't imagine it.

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:27 (twenty years ago)

g-kit, imagine someone you love ripping your heart out and then showing it you, then skipping off into the sunset with with someone new.

not-goodwin (not-goodwin), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:29 (twenty years ago)

Ripping and skipping - that's the worst possible combination

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:30 (twenty years ago)

...while insulting your fitness as a potential parent and throwing you out of your home.

x-post

Luminiferous Aether (kate), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:30 (twenty years ago)

oh the joy of love...

not-goodwin (not-goodwin), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:35 (twenty years ago)

Often, with affection, and no regrets.

stevo (stevo), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:40 (twenty years ago)

Never.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:40 (twenty years ago)

Only regrets are that i should have been more communicative with my feelings. Ah well, you live and learn.

not-goodwin (not-goodwin), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:47 (twenty years ago)

My only regret is that I didn't kick the guy in the nads when he was all "oh, honey, I need a bit of space... I think you should move out."

Luminiferous Aether (kate), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:48 (twenty years ago)

I usually don't think about any of them (except for the last one -- and I don't want to think about her at all but I end up doing so several times a day), but I did hang out with one of them last night.

Ian Riese-Moraine: Let this bastard out, and you'll get whiplash! (Eastern Mantr, Friday, 9 September 2005 11:59 (twenty years ago)

ah, the daily plague!

ai lien (kold_krush), Friday, 9 September 2005 14:28 (twenty years ago)

Every so often with nostalgia...

Then I remember the screaming, the pills and the hospital visits; the arguments that lasted weeks and the paranoia...

And then it becomes relief.

Stone Monkey (Stone Monkey), Friday, 9 September 2005 14:28 (twenty years ago)

more often than i would have thought, quickly followed by the conclusion that nobody cares if i miss the person a whole lot and no amount of time or space is going to make me stop.

carly (carly), Friday, 9 September 2005 14:34 (twenty years ago)

Don't think about. Get reminded of. Then have to blot or block or remember how shit they were. It's very wearing.

If I do think about them, it's very frustrating. "Damn it, and when he said *that* I should have said *this* and when he did *this* I should have dumped him there and then...." ad infinitum.

Getting in touch with exes. Now THAT is the baddy.

Zoe Espera (Espera), Friday, 9 September 2005 14:36 (twenty years ago)

every once in a while, usually provoked by a dream about one of them

mookieproof (mookieproof), Friday, 9 September 2005 14:41 (twenty years ago)

Pretty much any time anyone mentions heavy metal/beer/John Titor/alien abduction/Morrowwind. Then I shudder, remind myself to breathe normally, and go back to my book/thread/life.

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 9 September 2005 14:43 (twenty years ago)

Depends on the ex.

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 9 September 2005 14:44 (twenty years ago)

Okay, who has gone mad thinking about their exes as a result of this thread?

Er, I haven't.

Zoe Espera (Espera), Friday, 9 September 2005 14:45 (twenty years ago)

more importantly, who has gone masturbating thinking about their exes as a result of this thread?

ken c (ken c), Friday, 9 September 2005 14:47 (twenty years ago)

i haven't

yet

ken c (ken c), Friday, 9 September 2005 14:47 (twenty years ago)

actual girlfriends? almost never. Girls I was in love with who didn't return that? all the time.

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 9 September 2005 14:47 (twenty years ago)

Don't think about. Get reminded of.

Exactly. And ai lien OTM about the daily plague.
