Suggestions on RSS Aggregators

Okay, can anyone offer any recommendations for a site wherei can set up several RSS feeds? Ideally, I'd like something like an LJ Friends list; you know, one site, several blogs, etc.

i'd prefer to run this thru a website, so that i wouldn't have to run a separate program for the datafeeds...

I was thinking about making a meta ilx aggregator for our blogs but issues between RSS versions made this a PITA. Also some RSS feeds exported whole entries and some onl,y the first bit, etc. GOOD LUCK

Any idea where we can get both? whole posts and a link to the comments section?

well, in essence, exactly like a Friends List?

create your own mixed up rss feed - then stick it in RSS Reader? or put it on your website

FeedDigest
http://www.feeddigest.com/

offers a simple way of reading several rss feeds:

kinja
http://www.kinja.com

possibly:

findory

I've created at least two work-related pages through there, to track malware updates, advisories, shit like that. Of course, I think it's all a lot of horseshit, but hey, guys who just came from [pick a government agency]-CERT all think it's the bee's knees.

will the google site just do headlines, or can you set it for full entries?

You can use Newsgator as an Outlook plug-in and that'll sync across multiple computers.

There's a pretty good list of aggregators available at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_news_aggregators

I currently prefer Bloglines (mobile version, despite my lack of mobility)

If you like Feed Reader, it's well worth paying out the $30 for FeedDemon.

Apparently you can also use Newsgator's online service without the Outlook plug-in, but I haven't tried that.

two months pass...
yahoo's takeover of blo.gs has completely effed it up; does anyone know any other non-rss-only trackers for page updates?

Elvis Telecom OTM

(Though I only have the Lite version--is it worth paying for the full version, even though I don't really use it all that often?)

hopefully blo.gs will be sorted out - my understanding - there are no exact similar services [several years ago there was something called freshblogs - but that closed down]

however there is:

SuperBlog
http://www.superblog.org/index.php?setlanguage=en

were you can create multi RSS feeds on one update feed

i think what's most worrying is that while you cant see yr blo.gs faves at all on the main page right now the html page versions are still visible and all the links are completely messed up and spammed to hell. i hope that doesnt mean all the info's corrupted forever... also i had been thinking of transferring to http://blogrolling.com/

i dunno why i care really, all blogs are super lame right now. but i still wanna know exactly how lame tho sometimes

i want to do something that i suspect is very easy, but i haven't been able to work out how to do. i know how to use azureus with rss to automatically download torrents whose names contain keywords, but i don't want to do that - i want to have something that alerts me to the existence of the torrents, but doesn't download them without my permission. surely there's an easy way to do this?

Latest news on NetNewsWire for OS X and iPhone http://inessential.com/2009/06/06/where_i_am_with_netnewswire - in short, next version will sync with Google Reader.

Hopefully, the NNW iPhone users here will calm down.

do any of these have usable android apps?

the world is your octopus (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Tuesday, 12 September 2023 09:45 (two years ago)

Reeder is a decent app which I think allows you to track RSS on it but you can also add other trackers like Feedbin (which I use, also has a good web front end), Feedly, Newsblur - and also Pocket and Instapaper.
