Why play cribbage when your wife has tittage?

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 9 September 2005 19:56 (twenty years ago)

Hey! I play cribbage and have little tittage, but my playing and my tittage are high wattage and that's better than nothing.

The Milkmaid (of Human Kindness) (The Milkmaid), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:03 (twenty years ago)

Double run of four for ten!

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:04 (twenty years ago)

I would rather play Chiquita Banana and have my swimming pool than play Bach and starve.

kephm (kephm), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:04 (twenty years ago)

Two for his nobs!

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:05 (twenty years ago)

one for his...something. what is it?

The Milkmaid (of Human Kindness) (The Milkmaid), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:05 (twenty years ago)

heels!

The Milkmaid (of Human Kindness) (The Milkmaid), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:05 (twenty years ago)

On this thread, we do not say "pwned", we say "double-skunked".

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

To be honest, I don't know if I can play cribbage without having Chris around to count points for me.

Markovitz, Friday, 9 September 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

I got skunked the last time I played. It was horrifying.

The Milkmaid (of Human Kindness) (The Milkmaid), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:08 (twenty years ago)

Count your 15s, count your pairs, count your runs, check for flushes, check for heels. Do it methodically and you'll do well.

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:08 (twenty years ago)

This isn't a good Raunchy Young Lepers song.

Ian Riese-Moraine: Let this bastard out, and you'll get whiplash! (Eastern Mantr, Friday, 9 September 2005 20:09 (twenty years ago)

Also no mugging, we're playing friendly here.

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:09 (twenty years ago)

It's one of the best RYL lyrics though!

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:10 (twenty years ago)

hey, marko, i work right by SAIC and we can meet for lunch and cribbage sometime. you tell me when. i'll hold your hand while you learn to count.

The Milkmaid (of Human Kindness) (The Milkmaid), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

I can't believe I am in a thread that has mentioned those degenerate Raunchy Young Lepers.

Ok, Milkmaid, we'll play sometime.

Markovitz, Friday, 9 September 2005 20:15 (twenty years ago)

If you're nice to me, I might bring lunch for you too.

The Milkmaid (of Human Kindness) (The Milkmaid), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:18 (twenty years ago)

She makes good lunch. I will attest to that.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:19 (twenty years ago)

Oh, I love cribbage. We should do it online!

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:21 (twenty years ago)

Cribbage is a time-killer at best.

Old School (sexyDancer), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:21 (twenty years ago)

that smarted.

The Milkmaid (of Human Kindness) (The Milkmaid), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:38 (twenty years ago)

What isn't killing time?

Markovitz, Friday, 9 September 2005 20:39 (twenty years ago)

Art, Music, Poetry

Old School (sexyDancer), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:41 (twenty years ago)

I prefer "passing" time rather than killing, saving, wasting or spending it. No need to be vulgar. We're just talking about a gentle card game.

The Milkmaid (of Human Kindness) (The Milkmaid), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:42 (twenty years ago)

It's all counting and luck. Backgammon's a bit better.

Old School (sexyDancer), Friday, 9 September 2005 20:44 (twenty years ago)

Backgammon's all chance! Chess is better, of course, but cribbage is lighthearted fun.

Markovitz, Friday, 9 September 2005 22:13 (twenty years ago)

In crib there's a lot of strategy as to what cards you should put in the crib!

Poppy (poppy), Friday, 9 September 2005 22:27 (twenty years ago)

Backgammon and cribbage both have similar amounts of strategy: Relatively little. But backgammon's is more explicitly about gambling, and thus boringer.

Casuistry (Chris P), Saturday, 10 September 2005 02:15 (twenty years ago)

4-5-5-6 and upcard 4 or 6 is better than titty.

Cribbage! Great game or greatest game?

Alex Android (Viceroy), Saturday, 17 October 2009 23:22 (sixteen years ago)

greatest game

iatee, Saturday, 17 October 2009 23:24 (sixteen years ago)

I've been meaning to try this game. I'm not big on card games, but friends say that we should really try it.

Jeff, Saturday, 17 October 2009 23:25 (sixteen years ago)

it's pretty easy to learn

iatee, Saturday, 17 October 2009 23:27 (sixteen years ago)

15-2, and the rest won't do!

15-4 and the rest don't score!

there's a better way to browse (Dr. Superman), Sunday, 18 October 2009 00:14 (sixteen years ago)

15-5 and you beat anyone alive!

Alex Android (Viceroy), Sunday, 18 October 2009 01:39 (sixteen years ago)

that doesn't even make sense!

there's a better way to browse (Dr. Superman), Sunday, 18 October 2009 02:01 (sixteen years ago)

15-6 and... Well, it was usually "oh fuck you!" when my dad and I would play.

I've been playing for 30 years and have yet to get a 29 hand. Has anyone?

Bryan, Sunday, 18 October 2009 07:14 (sixteen years ago)

Don't think so but I srsly love this game. Online play ruined by miserable gits who log off when they're taking a beating.

Also, where I grew up a dead box was known as a Bull & Keatley after local undertakers.

Music should never have changed anymore after my mid 80s (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 18 October 2009 11:07 (sixteen years ago)

used to play with a deck of elvis photo cards -- the seven of clubs, in which the light glinting off elvis' hair makes it look like he's wearing a yarmulke, was worth an extra nobs-like point

mookieproof, Sunday, 18 October 2009 14:44 (sixteen years ago)

BRYAN!

The Ranger, the Cook, and a Hole in the Sky to thread!

Aimless, Sunday, 18 October 2009 19:44 (sixteen years ago)

I've been playing for 30 years and have yet to get a 29 hand. Has anyone?

Nope, but I did get 28 once. And hey I've been playing exactly 30 years too! (Since I was 11.) Haven't played much in the last decade tho.

Race Against Rockism (Myonga Vön Bontee), Monday, 19 October 2009 09:22 (sixteen years ago)

mookie that is so awesome

existential eggs (Abbott), Monday, 19 October 2009 18:30 (sixteen years ago)
