Starts this Wednesday on Living TV!!

Sarah and I have been preparing with a bit of "Australia's Next Top Model" (she followed the whole series whereas I just dipped in and out) as well as watching a special on the BNTM audition tapes - I already have a couple of favourites and I dopn't know if they'll even make the final list!

So, this thread is for anticipating and discussing said series which, I am sure, will keep you all occupied Wednesday nights for the next 13 weeks. take it away, ILE!

Gap adverts on the sides of buses - FAVOURITE SONGS/FAVOURITE JEANS - make me welcome the imminent Armageddon just that little more keenly.

I caught some of the audition tapes which were excruciating. I'll watch but i doubt it'll be as compulsive viewing as the yank one.

Hahaha MechaTyra. Isn't Twiggy one of the panel judges?

I didn't like the outcome of the Aussie series, but it was interesting to watch though since it de-emphasized the 'spokesmodel' aspect of the winner's responsibilities, and there was a lot less of the Tyra-equivalent in it and way more infighting among the girls.

Given the relative insularity of American programming, the only way we'd get BNTM would be to import the format, with its own assortment of US judges, personalities and contestants.
