Does anyone remember an old pc program called MOVIE MAKER?

I Think that was the name - not the same as Microsoft Movie Maker though. This was aimed at kids and you had 3d models of people and rooms (a bit like the sims) and you could change the angle and make the peopel talk and add sound effects and stuff and it was generally hilarious to muck about with. I can't find this anywhere and I'd love to get a copy.

Yes! We used to have the Nickelodeon version of that, it was brilliant. I used to love those programs! We had a Spider-man one too where you seemingly couldn't undo any mistake you made, and so if you made a typo in a speech bubble or put down an object you didn't mean to, you'd have to cross it out or put another one on top! As a result, the cartoons were hilarious.

anyone know where i can get a copy of this? I think it's awesome for just being able to bash out rough ideas for sketches and plays really quickly.

I remember this! It was fantastic. And I want it as well... maybe home of the underdogs has it. I can't look now, unfortunately, as I'm at work...

No joy on the 3D ones, but the Spider-Man one's here!

one year passes...
Can anyone recommend me a suitable (free) alternative to MS Movie Maker, which includes similar functionality - ie timeline editing with simple audio and visual cut & paste type dooley ?

I'm doing stop motion animation and I'm usuing something called MonkeyJam to capture video images, but editing it all with sound effects is another matter. I need a decent piece of software to change individual frame speeds and adding sound fx at specific time points.

MS Movie Maker just keeps crashing and making bizarre graphic slurs appear on my screen

Tried using VideoMan which at first seemed perfect but on closer inspection it horrifically wouldn't let me insert multiple frames, I had to open them one at a time. Mercy!

You have to burn an ISO to install Movie Maker. Don't know about Mac. Movie Maker is amazing though I agree.

three years pass...

So a friend of mine has been honing his Movie Maker skills and created (what I think) are some pretty neat cartoons. Thoughts?
