Mr. Alfonso, March 14, 2005
Reviewer: Christine "Christine" (Akron, Ohio) - See all my reviews

My 2 yo is obsessed with this movie, she watches it 5 times a day! She loves Pippi's horse Alfonso but I don't really appreciate the way he is so dismissed as a character in the movie. He isn't listed in the credits however Mr Neilson her monkey is. Alfonso talks almost as much as the monkey and yet no one even knows anything about him (plus he's much cuter and cleaner than the monkey, he takes bathes by himself). Does anyone know who does him voice over? I've looked everywhere and I can't figure it out.

it makes good use of that sprinkle-magic sound effect when pippi does the splits/handsprings/walks on walls

"Does anyone know who does him voice over? I've looked everywhere and I can't figure it out...."

Doesn't john leguizamo do like every animated voiceover ever? Or maybe Snoop?

One thing is definitely true: in the old theme song the line "Pippi Pippi Longstocking if you say it fast it's funny" is a pile of horseshit.

watch out, rosemary, they put some AWFUL dubbing on the new edition of the old pippi longstocking - when i was a kid pippi had the most radical voice, she sounded like a new jersey housewife, now she sounds ridic

In defending the indefensible, I would like to proffer the following defense: See that little boy in the picture up there? I went to college with that guy and he was hilarious.

there is a small zoo near where i live (Greenville, SC) called Hollywild Animal Park. it is a really run-down, depressing afair.

anyway, the zoo features retired animals used in movies, including the horse from pippi longstocking! oh my.
