ehhh... not so sure about this one. though i'm glad to see harold & the kid from freaks & geeks and of course XANDER. and frank langella. but seems like they haven't quite figured it out. also i think they want it both ways with him being a chain-smoker. also no one in the kitchen seems to speak spanish.

discuss yo! s/c to thread!

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 00:39 (twenty years ago)

I'm not s/c, but I think this has a lot of potential. It's on my list. John Francis Daley would never steer us wrong.

Haikunym (Haikunym), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 01:32 (twenty years ago)

is it as funny as the book?

kyle (akmonday), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 02:05 (twenty years ago)

it was as bad as deli sushi

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 02:08 (twenty years ago)

also, will from alias is on it!

not sure what i thought of it though...i wasn't really paying attention that much, but it seemed kind of meh. i'll prob end up watching it just because of the time slot.

Juulia (julesbdules), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 02:33 (twenty years ago)

you just can't get enough of that time slot, eh?

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 02:43 (twenty years ago)

My friend Sam plays the queeny waiter. You might remember him as the queeny waiter on Friends and the queeny bartender on Will and Grace. I wish he had better lines, he's so much funnier in real life.

Gogi Ormsby-Gore (Arthur), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 03:32 (twenty years ago)

The don't have Bourdain right. The actor is too young, too perky, not world weary enough. He doesn't look like he's been through a depraved youth and rehab--he looks like someone from the Friends cast. Feh!

Orbit (Orbit), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 19:58 (twenty years ago)

Shitty all around. Mostly, I blame the script, but the leads are fucking terrible as well.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 20:02 (twenty years ago)

it's after arrested development, and before prison break, so people will watch it whether it's good or not. i will probably, anyway.

He survived Victor Garber!

There was an article on AB in this past Sunday Times and he mentioned he had seen an episode and said "that's not me".

I am very glad I don't watch TV with Orbit or Huk or Yanc3-dawgs. It's no [insert your favorite overhyped critic's-darling show here], but it was fun enough for a pilot episode, it's not the typical sort of crap, and I'm watching it again, at least all the way to the first real episode. Probably by myself, unless J-bdules wants to come over.

The only thing I care about: HOW WAS JOHN DALEY? WAS HE FUNNY? I feel sorry for him because he was in that Geena Davis sitcom that got cancelled after 3 minutes.

n/a (Nick A.), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 20:31 (twenty years ago)

he wasn't sam weir funny but he was funny enough I think. my officemate thinks he was doing a napoleon dynamite impression but i think it was 1/3 gomer pyle 1/3 woody from cheers 1/3 sam weir, so good enough, play on.

if anyone should play anthony bourdain in a sitcom or movie, it should be one man: ELLIOT GOULD.

Bowring. Wait, there's a character named Stephen Daedalus on---no, still bowring.

Leeeeeeeee (Leee), Wednesday, 21 September 2005 03:39 (twenty years ago)

I was only entertained by the dude getting his finger cut off. Aside from that, I kept waiting to laugh and it didn't happen.

I am somewhat disturbed that mainstream media has conditioned me such that someone must get maimed before I crack a smile.

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 21 September 2005 03:53 (twenty years ago)

AB is completely gray/silver now.
