There's this movie from Norway (or maybe Denmark) about an overweight girl who wants to become a star (singer, I guess) and her dad helps her. 2000-ish. I don't know much more as I haven't seen it myself but a friend recomended it to me. Thanks!

80s movie ("family" sci-fi i think): there's a scene where a kid is turning a light switch on and off shouting "disco! disco!" to his mother's annoyance.
