It's CHRISTMASSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

Here in the UK it is 5 past midnight, officially Christmas. The goose is already expanding, and poor Edna Welthorpe is stuck out in space.

Of course the question is, HOW DOES SANTA DO IT? Deliver all the presents I mean. Does he make good use of changing time zones or simply stop time altogether? Does he do it himself or have help? These questions must be answered.

Have a happy one. Or try.

Ally C, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

He eats lots of magic mushrooms.

Johnathan, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No no no, that wouldn't work at all.

Ally C, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I think alex salkind produced a documentary about this.

I feel sorry for edna welthorpe. right?

richard john gillanders, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No no no, that wouldn't work at all.

Yeah it would, you see he bends space and time according to his benevolent vision. That's how he does it!

Johnathan, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I've just had a bit of a sesh in the Railway Bell with a bunch of bloody Aussies, and I wuv you all. Especially Ally C, natch.

Meanwhile, I'm conducting a stupid analogue vs digital argument over on ILM WHILST PLAYING VINYL IN THE LIVING ROOM.

Ooh, Pam's brought pies out. I'm outta here.

Merry thing.

Michael Jones, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

santa is not a bender. there is definitely a mrs. claus. can I use preclusion?

I'm sure he probably does use some sorts of illegal substances though.

richard john gillanders, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Haven't you got anything better to do with your time right now, Cookie?

Santa does it with the help of ...

.... PARENTS!

Merry Christmas to all of you,

from David, Pam & Sally

David, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hello, Now children did you not watch Santa Claus the movie this afternoon? that, quite simply, is how he does it. It's like magic dude, cos he is father Christmas. Oh it's my first post on here, I suspect that might be because I am not usually drunk near a computer. But it's quite safe when it's just you lot....

Sally Moore, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Sally Moore, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm sitting here in the dark so as nt to wake my evil elder brother who sleeps in the next room (separated by a glass door) (bear in mind I type this from the end of a skewer and thus the screen is in no way self illluminated). Merry fucking Christmas.

Graham, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

It's not Christmas yet! (Three more hours...) All the family is in bed, 'cept me. The only booze I'm getting is the alcohol in the NyQuil, boo.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

rosemary, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Merry Christmas everyone! Christmas in New Zealand is HOT and BEAUTIFUL! I am sunburned and have eaten nothing but strawberries, chocolates, raspberries and pavlova all day. Everyone in this country has gone to sleep except for me and I am going swimming.

rainy, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ha! I have not even made it to desert! I am going to huddle inside so I dont get sunburnt and continue drinking- its less painful that way. swimming could be good, but unfortunately I cant help but float :)

Menelaus Darcy, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

only, um um um lemme count, 7 & A HALF more hours of NZ Xmas left. It's not too painful. I;m drinkin Speights. My sister gave me a Sun Ra album.

Menelaus Darcy, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

17:23 and I've started the whisky. Expect further drunken ramblings later. Happy Christmas to every last one of you.

RickyT, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

6:24pm GMT: Why did they put all the biscuits and chocolates and food and booze right by the phone socket. ILE is ruining my figure.

Graham, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

12:05 26/12/01: It really feels too early to be up! I wish I'd stayed up last night and watched all of Hellraiser now! Happy Boxing Day!

james, Wednesday, 26 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Way after the fact, but Merry Xmas indeed. I had a good 'un. :-)

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 27 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

one year passes...
Is it Christmas yet? I just heard Ann Hampton Calloway singing "I'll Be Home For Christmas" on NBC's Thanksgiving Day Parade coverage.

bad jode (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

No it was yesterday!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

dang!

bad jode (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

the good old days.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I got my first Christmas card in the post this morning!

C J (C J), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

No way - send it back!

smee (smee), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

wow, less than four weeks now....

oh and it's high time Sally posted again (I never knew abt this thread before, as my parents' house is a pooter free zone, and likely to remain that way).

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I got my first christmas card on the 16th november, but it was from my lovely employers giving me 50 first class christmas stamps. (which, they were obliged to tell me,I cannot sell on or I would have to pay tax to the inland revenue). So if anyone needs a stamp, and I have one on me, you can't buy it off me, which means I use my christmas stamps well into July/August.

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:40 (twenty-two years ago)

whether CJ's card was from within the UK or not is, well, U & K.

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I've been feeling quite Christmassy all day. I keep singing "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" which has obviously been planted subliminally into my brane by muzak I heard while out shopping at lunchtime.

Your employers give you 50 Christmas 1st class stamps?? How weird! Whatever happened to giving employees hampers incl booze??

C J (C J), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I do work for the Royal Mail...

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:44 (twenty-two years ago)

My card was from Hong Kong - I suppose they must have ridiculously early "Last Posting Dates" for mail like we do. I think the UK's last posting date for mail outside Europe is next week, so I must get my skates on and write some cards this weekend!!

Anybody here want a card from the UK? I'll gladly send some to you all!

C J (C J), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)

my old employer gave me BOUZE. I'm not sure the current one gives me anything. We even pay fro the crimbo party.

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I will get zilch too. AND I'm not paying £29 to go to a naff seafront hotel restaurant and eat heavy French food with no vegetarian option, thank you.

It is not Christmas yet. Luckily the ominous fairy lights that have appeared in the language centre are behind my desk, so I can pretend they don't exist.

Archel (Archel), Thursday, 27 November 2003 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I've just said that I'll go to ours, stupid boy, it's out at Pinewood and you live in Walthamstow, and it's fancy dress grrrrrrrr

but yes, it's free

chris (chris), Thursday, 27 November 2003 17:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I just paid the remaining £25 to mine - it better be good!

smee (smee), Thursday, 27 November 2003 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)
