this is where you need a family who has cocktails at 5, dinner at 7 ( with wine), coffee with liquer after dinner, then an hour to wait for company , when compnay you continue to drink ( &ts and vodkaoranges) everyone is then loaded and pleasently warm and no one counts , christ get to the program melanus .

My family are clearly wimps- I cant wait to get back to Dunedin where I hope to indulge in that kind of lifestyle with my beloved flatmate. she understands good food and alcohol.

I'm not. I was impressed with myself yesterday, not drinking until 8pm, only to have my glass topped up every 5 minutes by our overly- generous neighbour, resulting in a bloody headache this morning. GrrrXor. Still, wine should start flowing in an hour or so. Must pace myself...

We went through 4 bottlesof wine, one of white (ugh) rum and one of Khalual [sp?]. Though it was mostly me and one brother that dug throught 200 in wine, includin one that was 60 american per bottle (wonderful Pinot Noir) the others were a name I cant remeber (from Napa) one Chadoney and the finaly which Im finishing currently is a Baco Noir.

I had a - shudder - DRY CHRISTMAS pretty much. No beer in the house and I can't drink wine without feeling v.ill, generally. I had the odd glass anyway but stayed sober. And I don't even drive. Anyway I still enjoyed myself though less than usual.
