Comic selling advice

I've got hundreds of UK annuals and comics, from the 60's to mid-80's, and I would like to sell them. They include various editions and issues of: Buster, Beano, Beezer, Buster and Jackpot, Whizzer and Chips, Tornado, 2000AD, Eagle, Victor, Wow!, Cor!!, Nutty, Topper, Dandy, Cheeky, Hotspur, Whoopee!. All the standards, then - not sure if any are particularly rare, but most are in ver good nick. What's the best way to go about selling them, anyone know? Should I sell them separate or as a whole? On ebay or privately? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Pick out anything that might be worth money - that will not include '80s children's comics, for instance. First issues. Early 200ADs, or issues with anything special in (like Bolland Dredd art, for instance). '60s comics in excellent condition, maybe. Worth looking on ebay to see if anything similar is on. I don't know where you are, so I don't know if it's feasible to ask a local comic shop if they are interested - you'd make less than selling on ebay, but you could get rid of them all at once without having to screw around with packaging and posting loads of different sets, and spending countless hours fiddling around. (Also, that might be a way of sussing what is worth anything.) It would be a very rare comic shop that would want the bulk after you cherry-pick for ebaying the best, in case that crosses your mind.

The back issue/collector market in UK comics is pretty weak, so don't expect too much.

Thanks Martin! Must admit, I haven't looked at my old collection that closely, but even if I did, I doubt very much I'd be able to spot the rareities, so I'm tempted to take them all into a shop in one go. Unfortunately, don't think there are any such shops where I'm based, in Winchester..
