Julia and Cameron: 'Unkempt Bag Ladies'?
The next time Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz strike a pose on the red carpet, it's a good bet they won't be decked out in a gown from Valentino. The iconic Italian designer is loudly expressing his dismay that the leggy actresses would dare to go out in public clad in not-so-kicky casualwear instead of elegant couture.
"Today you see Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz running around looking unkempt in jogging trousers. They look like bag ladies, like homeless people," Valentino, 73, rails to the German weekly Die Zeit. "In the past, actresses had to commit in their contracts to appear in public like stars when they left their homes."
Roberts, you'll recall, earned raves for the vintage black velvet Valentino gown she donned when she won her Oscar for "Erin Brockovich" in 2001. At the time, the tart-tongued designer still seemed to care about remaining in her good graces: He reportedly sent Julia 20 dozen red roses in a red leather container.
Valentino, who in his 45 years on the fashion scene has dressed everyone from Jackie Kennedy to Gwyneth Paltrow, also has something of a problem with Lindsay Lohan, who wore one of his creations to this summer's premiere of "Herbie: Fully Loaded."
He recently admitted to the New Yorker that he was relieved when the teen queen didn't make it to his runway show in Paris, saying, "She makes me so uncomfortable."
LiLo, however, got off easy compared to Paris Hilton, who incurs the worst of Valentino's venom. When the mag asked whether he would design a wedding gown for the self-promoting starlet's impending nuptials to Paris Latsis, the loose-lipped designer snapped, "No. I don't like her. She is marrying the son of a friend of mine. They have billions. She is vulgar and she is not even pretty ... The Hiltons. They have nothing."
The word you're searching for here: Ouch.

designers. so self righteous! This isn't the '30s where every movie star left the house decked out in diamonds to do some shopping. Too many star stalkers out there now, so better to wear no makeup big hat and huge shades to stay incognito. Sweats rule!
