Damn, I'm enjoying this a huge amount. It's basically a soap opera with nothing to say, but so clever and involving.

I read about the first 1/3 of it the week it came out & put it down- not sure why I couldn't get into it, but I didn't. I know lots of people who have enjoyed it, though. I just read The Historian which was pretty entertaining.

I think that there was a thread about this book already. I enjoyed it. It is the sort of book that should be read in the deep of winter while sitting in battered leather armchair while outside the wind howls around the windows. Unfortunately I read it in the heat of a Bangkok April.

The miniseries is on Netflix now. Recommended.

Yeah it's really nice. I have the book by the foot of the bed which I'll get to read at some point. The TV version looked great.
Possibly crying for a sequel though possibly not.
Do love costume dramas for period costumes. They do inspire what I make clothingwise.
