Santos is a terrible character with little or no depth, the ultimate idealized Democrat. He's a minority! A military hero! A fighter for the common man! A liberal, but strong on defense! Oooh-ra!
Hawkeye is very Presidential (although, yes, an idealized macho but principled Republican - like someone thawed Ike out from 1953 and shit) much like Sheen before they went all paralyzed-cripple. I figure it would be a cold day in hell before they completely swapped casts to put him in office, but a Vinick West Wing could be very interesting if they get a good supporting cast (make Jimmy James permanent, dammit).
