The poet laureate of television has died of cancer. He was in his early 80s. Despite the efforts of Conan O'Brien and a certain jovial Amazon reviewer, there was only one Nipsey Russell.

I don't know if he wrote his own doggerel or had a writer, but he never sacrificed rhyme for cadence or vice versa. I'm trying to remember what game shows he mainly did — Match Game?
