oh, that pink thing was miu miu technically.

xp short shorts are the only shorts that work!

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 14:46 (twenty years ago)

roberto cavalli is not going with the moms jeans trend and probably never will, maybe he has HIPSTERS 4 LIFE tattoed on his breast

http://www.vogue.com.au/slides-images/imagefolder/slide-1995/00010m.jpg

its probably sensible, i have moms jeans and i think they mess with my digestion

That is also Scarlett Johansen in that Imitation of Christ fashion show pic.

Mendoza Lineman (Carey), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 14:51 (twenty years ago)

I am starting to like Libertine more and more now that they are not just silk screening pirates on vintage clothes.

http://www.newyorkmetro.com/fashion/fashionshows/2006/spring/main/newyork/runway/libertine/images/15.jpg

Mendoza Lineman (Carey), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 14:54 (twenty years ago)

haha oh god now the 'carcrash' aspect sinks in but also the lipstick and hair are like 'carwash' era xtina

minna (minna), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 14:55 (twenty years ago)

teeny i like the prada black bandy shoulder straps too and intend to steal that look

minna (minna), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 14:58 (twenty years ago)

ooh I haven't seen the libertine collection yet. And I liked their skulls!

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 15:00 (twenty years ago)

I liked the skulls and pirates too, but when I actually saw it in person it was the type of thing you know you can do at home for $20.

Mendoza Lineman (Carey), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 15:02 (twenty years ago)

I really like the new Jovovich-Hawke line, but I don't know if they had a fashion show. I am kind of obsessing about it.

Mendoza Lineman (Carey), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 15:02 (twenty years ago)

i thought ethan hawke was a novelist!

minna (minna), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 15:12 (twenty years ago)

whoops, no E. jovovich-hawk.

Mendoza Lineman (Carey), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 15:14 (twenty years ago)

I saw some pieces in the dept store and they looked insanely easy and fun to wear.

Mendoza Lineman (Carey), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 15:14 (twenty years ago)

haha sorry (but did you ever read ethan hawkes novel? it was pretty jaw-dropping)

minna (minna), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 15:15 (twenty years ago)

I never learned how to read. I did see him in a play though and he was really pasty.

minna (minna), Thursday, 6 October 2005 13:37 (twenty years ago)

I know this sounds horrible, but some of Olivier's prêt-à-porter looks, how shall I say, wearable.

M. White (Miguelito), Thursday, 6 October 2005 14:03 (twenty years ago)

wow, some of the Balenciaga is amazing.. and Rochas, I want to wear that.

M. White (Miguelito), Sunday, 9 October 2005 17:11 (twenty years ago)

I like the maltese cross print on that one dress..

And I am so happy every time I see the word Diaporama. "Slide show"? How boring!

hussein chalayan has some good stuff, the shapes seem linked to some of the balenciaga shapes but the fabrics are more down to earth

sass & bide are hacks

haha, of all the shows i sat this past ny fashion week, sass & bide was probably the worst. though the show opened with architecture in helsinki "do the whirlwind" which was cute. and the models all had funny hats!

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 10 October 2005 05:34 (twenty years ago)

yeah the hats! and all the bindings on their arms and shit! they were totally trying to maskcessorize the fact that their clothes suck

i ashamedly admit to liking 'do the whirlwind'. it works for me on the basis that i played 'genius of love' out long ago and i miss it!

what shows did you like phil??

minna (minna), Monday, 10 October 2005 05:41 (twenty years ago)

i think united bamboo was my favorite. really really cute stuff. it was at some warehouse in hells kitchen. cute girly stuff, and lots of lavender sheer fabric tops that you could see nipples through.

heatherette was fun, as usual, but the shoes were all too big or something because half the girls looked like they were teetering on them. nicky hilton stumbled out of hers and had to put them back on in the middle of the runway, and one asian girl stumbled and just took them off - walking down the runway with her shoes in her hands. and naomi campbell came out in this hilarious bowtie swimsuit thing. and then at the end, amanda lep0re (who is looking extra tragic these days) strutted out with a bottle of midori and poured into a giant mansized champagne flute. it was odd. i was wondering how heatherette had managed to pay for a show at the tent tent. not even the small runway, like the main runway at the tent. but i guess midori must have ponied up for most of it. though heatherette is sold at bendels now.

rag and bone was awful, and it was at a tiny restaurant in the meatpacking district - the lighting was fucked up, but somehow they had really big models (big as in famous, not as in fat) - and also there was free champagne and food

yoko devereaux was okay. i couldnt really see much because the venue was weird (at a swimming pool at a hotel), and there was a big concrete column in my way.

some greek guy that i dont remember the name of vlassic somethingnoss was terrible. baby phat i didnt get into because i got trampled outside when kelis showed up so i left. alexandrre herchcovitch was very nice too. but lot of stuff i wanted to see was too early so i missed. zaldy would have been nice but it was at like 11am, so i gave my invite to my boss' girlfriend which scored me brownie points, i think.

lanvin is great but look how UNDERSTATED it is, its just not going to do to paste more than 1 one on this thread or it will be too boring

(oops xpost... posting this then reading)

minna (minna), Monday, 10 October 2005 06:02 (twenty years ago)

btw, that g&w article should be out soon. aliya (n1ck zinn3r's gf) did a shoot with your shirts on like real models somewhere in LA.

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 10 October 2005 06:13 (twenty years ago)

oh wicked! im glad the mag is going well for ilirjana, cant wait to see it. thats crazy that my stuff ws on real models! haha im trying to put together a shoot with fake models here (my friend's sisters who are v v pretty but not tall enough to be real models) but even right now i shd really be researching american minimalism

ps i just checked out united bamboo and its really nice! i knew the name but hadnt really checked for them before, thanks phil! (haha the shoes thing would have been sad if it was paris but i have shadenfreude for nicky hilton)
