Tons. Ladies Home Journal was singularly responsible for the Republican takeover of the House in 1994.

It's terrible. I got it as a Christmas present one year. I tried to read the articles once or twice, but I couldn't stomach it. It had a lot of religious and republican undertones. So I'd read the "Can this marriage be saved?" section (like a bad talk show in a magazine) and then throw it in the recycle bin.

It will spotlight one woman and tell about her life and how good it is and how Cassie and Cody are the best kids ever, and the rest of the magazine is filled with bad recipes and old lady fashion advice and advertisements for medicine that helps prevent osteoporosis.

That's one of those magazines that you only see in doctor's waiting rooms. It's bad enough that you don't feel well, but do they have to get you all depressed about the state of Korporate Amerikan Womanhood, too? Sheesh.

If this happens, I'll go well out of my way to never spend the coin, but rather melt each one I find into a shiny hammer and use it to strike Peggy Noonan in the kneecaps.
