So, Kim & Zac have their TOP-SECRET ANNOUNCEMENT, Anthony had his big show, and Dave M & myself each have a sweet new gig.

I say we raise a toast to these fine new developments.

Your thoughts?

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 00:36 (twenty years ago)

sooner rather then later baby

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:51 (twenty years ago)

I misread the thread title as "Steady Pubin'".

Steady Reuben: Deli Edition

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 19:02 (twenty years ago)

Not a good week for me -- I've been sick and have to play catch-up on some work.

I am all for some steady pubbin' in general, though.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 19:09 (twenty years ago)

Next weekend???

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 19:23 (twenty years ago)

next weekend is fucked, b/c i am doing things out of town, (MILTON BITCHES) and anyways i leave in four days, so it has to happen today or tomorrow, really

anthony, Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:31 (twenty years ago)

oh, we are all so poor at this, aren't we!

i haven't seen you lot for a while, so count me in...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:49 (twenty years ago)

Uh, do we wanna try for tomorrow night? (Email me for the 7 digits, yo.)

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:56 (twenty years ago)

well, i suck coz i'm actually crazy busy this week and gone this weekend. but next week is better...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 21:12 (twenty years ago)

crap! sorry, didn't see this until now. (and it doesn't have the magic readmenow word "FAP" in the thread title) haven't been online much at all this week. i'm pretty busy for the next little bit actually - am on the planning committee for a work "gala" at the holiday inn that's in about two weeks so am running around trying to find centrepeices and decorations and shit, and we're on a time deadline to find a reception venue for ourselves (a year away in Toronto doesn't seem nearly enough time really) AND on Sunday we're having thanksgiving dinner here for his family and i'm short at least one chair and have forgotten how to use a stove. but damn i want a drink. oddly enough, just this afternoon i was pestering Stinky to meet up with me for beer next week but he flaked on me to "drive his car" or something before we finalized an actual day. the man needs a good kick in the ass sometimes let me tell you. is friday 14th good?

Kim (Kim), Thursday, 6 October 2005 04:04 (twenty years ago)

(and it doesn't have the magic readmenow word "FAP" in the thread title)

I'm really regretting that, actually, as I think other Toronto peeps are also missing this thread.

Friday the 14th sounds good to me.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Thursday, 6 October 2005 18:07 (twenty years ago)

dudes, yr totally not reading me.
i leave in three days--i have tonite off, and then have a photo lecture on friday and neil gaiman on thurs.

late is cool, but I DO WANT TO DRINK SOON W. YOU FUXOURS

Anthony, Thursday, 6 October 2005 18:13 (twenty years ago)

OK, teeny modded the thread title for me.

Anthony, I think everybody's schedule is jacked for this week - I have a staff meeting in 2.5 hours, then I'm hitting the gym for the first time in six years (my Christmas present to myself is to lose my beer gut in time for the holiday season). I'm tagging along to a friend's show tomorrow night after work.

I suppose we could mini-FAP on Saturday - anyone?

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Thursday, 6 October 2005 18:31 (twenty years ago)

we've had three weeks to fap though...

a, Thursday, 6 October 2005 18:32 (twenty years ago)

*shrugs*

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Thursday, 6 October 2005 18:33 (twenty years ago)

im feeling a bit hurt, but im assuming its my paranoia

a, Thursday, 6 October 2005 18:34 (twenty years ago)

Dude, you shoulda come DaveM's DJ night - I thought that was going to be an unofficial FAP.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Thursday, 6 October 2005 19:12 (twenty years ago)

oddly enough, just this afternoon i was pestering Stinky to meet up with me for beer next week but he flaked on me to "drive his car" or something before we finalized an actual day.

Texting back and forth while driving on the freeway is an extremely bad idea, really. Between my day job and the freelance stuff that I do evenings and weekends I have barely even had enough time to answer email or do anything fun for myself. I know, wahhhh, wahhhh, cry me a river time, but at least I'm being consistently flaky with everyone here at the moment, so apologies to both you and Anthony. I really could use a night out with beers far more often, but I just can't do it much any more. (ie. if I took the only free time I had to go out drinking with teh ILX, I'd probably become public enemy number one at home).

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 6 October 2005 19:30 (twenty years ago)

does anyone want to go to the photo lecture at ryerson tomorrow, with mariko mori?

its really really complicated, but i try to avoid dave m.

a, Thursday, 6 October 2005 19:33 (twenty years ago)

!!!

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Friday, 7 October 2005 13:20 (twenty years ago)

Sean, you doof. stop trying to make it sound like i see you more than once or twice a year now! i was trying to tell you my good news in person. man, i suck at having friends.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 7 October 2005 15:14 (twenty years ago)

Ant, i went to squirrely's the other weekend partly because you were supposed to be there. i wouldn't normally go out before work the next morning! don't you have my phone number anymore?

Kim (Kim), Friday, 7 October 2005 15:25 (twenty years ago)

the sundar thing?
actually not in TO

anthony, Friday, 7 October 2005 22:18 (twenty years ago)

Sooooo... this Friday?

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Tuesday, 11 October 2005 19:10 (twenty years ago)

Actually Saturday is looking better than Friday. Too late to switch days?

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 02:28 (twenty years ago)

I'm fine with either day.

Did anybody FAP last Wednesday?

Will this FAP feature a NON-CURFEWED Dave M.?

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 03:08 (twenty years ago)

I can do either Friday or Saturday.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 23:22 (twenty years ago)

ok then. Saturday. where at? anyone care especially? I'm in the mood for something loungey/pubby but drawing a blank on anywhere new. any ideas or should we just do the usual sneakys or green room or ???

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 23:35 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, pubby/loungey always works. Bonus if we don't have to scream over the sound system. I love my local (House On Parliament), but I think it's out of the way for a lot of people, so I won't push for it.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Thursday, 13 October 2005 01:38 (twenty years ago)

Er, where are we at with this?

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Friday, 14 October 2005 00:07 (twenty years ago)

House on P was good. I'd be game to go there again.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 14 October 2005 00:33 (twenty years ago)

Sweet!

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Friday, 14 October 2005 00:37 (twenty years ago)

yeppers

discussion topics:

1. Who wants to see Depeche Mode in September?
2. GOTO 1

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Friday, 14 October 2005 03:20 (twenty years ago)

(December, not September)

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Friday, 14 October 2005 03:21 (twenty years ago)

I am definitely going to DM in DECEMBER! I am a total fanboy. I was also lucky enough to interview Mr. Gahan last week for work! Crazy. Anyway, a bunch of friends and I are going to get tix for sure. What are your plans?

As for tomorrow's HoP action, I might not be able to make it, as I'm off to the Death Cab For Cutie show later...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 14 October 2005 12:29 (twenty years ago)

MIR, you know we're going!!! I'll chat with you about that tomorrow night.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Friday, 14 October 2005 13:19 (twenty years ago)

ooh DM. hmmmmm. i really really oughta go, even though i haven't heard anything from the new one except the single. it's been since Violator tour!

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 15 October 2005 01:53 (twenty years ago)

Soooooo... H.O.P. ??? What time-ish???

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Saturday, 15 October 2005 13:24 (twenty years ago)

will be there 8:30 or thereabouts

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 15 October 2005 16:12 (twenty years ago)

See you then!

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Saturday, 15 October 2005 16:31 (twenty years ago)

I didn't realize we left so late last night. Even after stopping to grab my bike for the 2nd half of the journey home, I didn't get back until 3:45. That didn't leave much time for marking problem sets before going to bed.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Sunday, 16 October 2005 18:21 (twenty years ago)

I'm surprised that I'm not hung over.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Sunday, 16 October 2005 19:23 (twenty years ago)

sorry i didn't make it - helping my dad close the pool all day, came back to my apt and sat down on the couch for ten minutes, only to wake up at 4am fully clothed with all the lights on. happy b-day tantrum!

yuengling participle (rotten03), Sunday, 16 October 2005 21:07 (twenty years ago)

No sweat, Dave. And thanks! (It's not 'til a week from today, but thanks regardless!)

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Sunday, 16 October 2005 21:26 (twenty years ago)

oooh i think i'm hung over enough for eveyone (the 6 stella may have been right after all!) also suddenly totally sick with a head cold too, so perhaps sitting on a damp patio all night wasn't the smartest thing after all, despite how much fun that was. Ian, i guess 50-55 would be my max for the DM tix, since money saving is kind of urgent and key right now!
