D. All of the above.

You can't, really, because remedies for any one of those conditions would affect the other two so there's no control setting for the experiment. Next!

Being tired or hungover will actually lower your body's defenses and increase your chances of getting ill.

(Though my mum's surefire test was to take my temperature - a fever the one thing that is only caused by illness rather than hangover, tiredness or indeed stubbornness at not wanting to go to school/work.)

Get some sleep and lay off the sauce. If you still feel crap, see a doctor.

I am all three of those right now, I can tell because I feel three times worse than when I'm only one of them.

I just looked in the mirror and I have the most gigantic black/purple circles under my eyes and am pale as fuck. I look dead, in fact.

oh i would take my temperature and sleep definitely but still at work!

i'm going bowling this p.m. though, that usually chirps me up so i'll see if that helps.

In Thailand I was absolutely convinced I had malaria. Turned out it was a hangover.

You know how when you drink alcohol just before going to sleep your body produces a massive surge of - is it noradrenaline? something like that - about 4 hours later and wakes you up? Well I am waking up like that every single night between 3 and 5am, but I haven't even been drinking (well I was last night but not usually). Kind of sucks.

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 14:05 (twenty years ago)

do you drink water before bed? i find that that helps a lot (even when you're not hungover)

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 14:06 (twenty years ago)

When you feel better give yourself this little test.

1, drink enough beer to warrant a meaty hangover.

2 , wear damp clothes on a winters night, staying out until your blue.

3 , stay up all night.

In the morning write down the symptoms of each. Then in years to come you can refer to your notes and self diagnose, saving worry (that can lead to illness) and a trip to your local GP.

Don’t do all these on the same night, I’d recommend at least a week in between each experiment.

OH MY GOD I hate it when that happens! Its like "argh my veins are full of poison, I'm dying" *have panic attack*

I try never to go to bed drunk, if I can help it. B multivitamin and loads of water before bed.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 6 October 2005 10:43 (twenty years ago)

do you only drink in the morning or do you just not get drunk?

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 6 October 2005 10:51 (twenty years ago)

OK, what I meant was, like, if I *am* drunk I try not to go to bed right on top of the last drink/smoke, I try and sober up for at least an hour or so before I pass out. =)

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 6 October 2005 11:10 (twenty years ago)

O yeah, vodka on the cornflakes, Vyv!

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 6 October 2005 11:10 (twenty years ago)

I'm having what feels like a hangover i spite of only drinking 3 small glasses of red wine. Having said that i did only get 4 hours sleep.

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 6 October 2005 11:17 (twenty years ago)

I am definitely ill now. Sneezing and sniffling and just exhausted.

Archel (Archel), Thursday, 6 October 2005 11:20 (twenty years ago)

a hangover for me often involves a characteristic feeling in the throat, although that may be from cigarettes. it's hard to separate the two :)

but it's also a bit of nausea. it's just a more wasted feeling than illness sickness.
