Got anything good in the sales yet? All I've managed with my meagre funds (extensive Xmas list = not much Xmas cash) are a couple of books, this and this. Wot have you been buying, eh?

well, i just braved Ilford and bought a black jumper - *the* black jumper that i have been looking for for ages - but it wasn't in the sale i'm afraid. Waterstones looks like it has some bargains but alas i forgot my book tokens. oh well!

Can't face the West Enbd, which is where I am. Sigh. Not that I need anything, except jeans, as I discovered that my current obese state has worn away 90% of my crotch (of my jeans, that is) and quite drastically need to buy some more before pinky and perky start making their presence felt to the watching world.

Denim recommendations please!

I'm actually going to brave Best Buy around here and see if I can scarf some more of the Pet Shop Boys reissues for cheap. I might be lucky, might not...

Like you can buy anything good in Rye (and like after being exposed to regular city transport I can be bothered waiting for the hourly bus/train out of here (and like you can be anything good in Hastings/Ashford)). Not that I'm bitter. Like you can buy anything good.

i didn't mean to, but i bought a heather pink polo and some nice low- rise baby blue cords. which, even though totally on sale, cost more than i should have been spending.

teach me to 'accompany' post-xmas shoppers.

oi vey.

Red bag and scarf in Muji. Also blue cords (don't fit) and a brown skirt (does fit! half price!!!). Vest in the Gap. Stripey bra and pants (encounter with woman in queue detailed on 'talk to strangers' thread). Canonball Adderley 'Somethin Else' for a fiver-ish. They'd knocked a whole TEN POUNDS off the boots I wanted in Jones so I still couldn't afford them. What kind of a sale is that?

Ellie, Friday, 28 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

There's no sale on beer at Christmas. (Grate lost country titles No.1). Not braved the 'real' sales yet but Oxford being Oxford I doubt they'll excite.

Tom, Friday, 28 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yokoono had a single?

Geoff, Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The Oxford HMV sale is RUBBIDGE, had a look yesterday, although i did get timesplitters for 25 squid for my PLAYSTATION 2 (have i told you, etc?), the music bit was worse than usual. Oxford was virtually deserted yesterday though, where has everyone gone???

carsmilesteve, Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom, Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I built up such a HYOWG list of cd's to NOT BUY (that *is* a verb) on the off-chance that they were present-ed to me.

Alan (at home), Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I got a Murakami book today. It was not in the sales. I will buy a new bag, coat and glasses soonish (within 6 months of this post)
