Dear God no!

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Friday, 7 October 2005 13:46 (twenty years ago)

my good friend does this, of course he is a nerd.

bingo (Chris V), Friday, 7 October 2005 13:48 (twenty years ago)

No, it swims around in my back, hidden so I can never find it when it rings

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 7 October 2005 13:50 (twenty years ago)

Like dis please.

Confounded (Confounded), Friday, 7 October 2005 13:51 (twenty years ago)

I clipped a pedometer to my waistband yesterday, but I don't think it worked properly.

C J (C J), Friday, 7 October 2005 13:52 (twenty years ago)

What did it tell you?

Jonothong Williamsmang (ex machina), Friday, 7 October 2005 13:53 (twenty years ago)

I'd been walking ALL DAY and it said I'd only done about 800 steps.

But I bought it from the 99p shop, so it's not surprising that it was rubbish.

Surely you meant bad, didn't you?!

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Friday, 7 October 2005 13:57 (twenty years ago)

Dear God no!

When I read this thread title these were the exact words that appeared in my head.

I prefer to leave mine in another room, turned off. just to annoy.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 7 October 2005 13:58 (twenty years ago)

I actually meant bag. It's been a long afternoon...

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:01 (twenty years ago)

It's considered a different no-no here. With young people.
I used to put it in my pocket but now it's somewhere uh lost.
Pregnancy pants rarely have pockets for some odd reason.

This thread is typo-roffle gold.

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:19 (twenty years ago)

When I first got my cell phone I kept putting it in my pocket with the antenna pulled out, so when I tried to get it back out the antenna would get caught and I'd miss the call. Now I have somehow turned both the ring and vibrate functions off, so I can only call out. I'm too lazy/distracted to look in the manual. Fine by me. I hate getting phone calls. Rattles my nerves.
I proofed that.

Beth Parker (Beth Parker), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:28 (twenty years ago)

looks so goddamned stupid. on the other hand, I lose my phone about 50 times a day, so I can see why people do it. but still, no way.

the phones I just bought for my HOUSE came with belt clips. WHO THE FUCK CLIPS THEIR LANDLINE HANDSET TO THEIR BELT? Show me this person and I will set them on fire.

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:33 (twenty years ago)

this is a bad idea. use pocket.

AleXTC (AleXTC), Friday, 7 October 2005 15:09 (twenty years ago)

"you don't have to call..."

bingo (Chris V), Friday, 7 October 2005 15:11 (twenty years ago)

Perhaps if Usher looked like a young Damon Wayans...

The Ghost of We All Look Alike (Dan Perry), Friday, 7 October 2005 15:11 (twenty years ago)

There is a clever little cell phone pouch on the strap of my purse so I put it in there. Note: the purse also has a clever little pocket for lip balm.

I originally typed "limp balm."

I keep mine on my belt, if I'm not wearing a shirt with a breast pocket or khakis with big pockets. There are two reasons for this.

1 - I can leave it on vibrate. All ringtonesdiediediediediediedie. I don't want to hear your 'clever' ringtone. Have some fucking consideration and don't make unneccesary, obnoxious noise. When I am emperor of the solar systems, use of ringtones will get you thrown to the crocodiles.

2 - I have a bulky old POS phone that is too big to put in a jeans or slacks pocket comfortably.

Austin Still (Austin, Still), Friday, 7 October 2005 21:13 (twenty years ago)

B-b-but being comfortable isn't as important as not looking like an IT geek!

My dad is so clueless that he thinks wearing his phone on his belt is "sharp" and can't wrap his head around me not wanting to be like him w/r/t this.

oops (Oops), Friday, 7 October 2005 22:08 (twenty years ago)

I leave mine on vibrate, but it goes in my front jeans pocket. Unless it's a rare day when I'm wearing a skirt, then I turn the ringer on & put it in my cellphone.

The heinous Blackberry-clipped-to-belt look is big at my company. At least they don't walk around with Palm V's clipped to their belt like they used to a few years ago.

lyra (lyra), Friday, 7 October 2005 22:46 (twenty years ago)

Argh, I swear, this week ate my brain. then I turn the ringer on & put it in my cellphone. => then I turn the ringer on & put it in my purse.

lyra (lyra), Friday, 7 October 2005 22:47 (twenty years ago)

to echo others, dear god no

AaronK (AaronK), Friday, 7 October 2005 22:51 (twenty years ago)

what belt?

400% Nice (nordicskilla), Friday, 7 October 2005 22:55 (twenty years ago)

cell phones inside of cell phones

Super Cub (Debito), Friday, 7 October 2005 22:57 (twenty years ago)

I am not concerned with looking like an IT nerd for two reasons.

1 - I know nothing about IT.

2 - I am so many other kinds of nerd it's pretty much beside the point.

Austin Still (Austin, Still), Friday, 7 October 2005 23:23 (twenty years ago)

This is proof there is no god.
