400% Nice (nordicskilla), Friday, 7 October 2005 16:53 (twenty years ago)

I'm more of a three stripes man myself.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 7 October 2005 16:54 (twenty years ago)

Ah, yes.

400% Nice (nordicskilla), Friday, 7 October 2005 16:54 (twenty years ago)

Me too (in spirit)

400% Nice (nordicskilla), Friday, 7 October 2005 16:54 (twenty years ago)

I heard that Tretorns are back.

I have these. I love'em!

nathalie, a bum like you (stevie nixed), Friday, 7 October 2005 16:55 (twenty years ago)

Undisputedly classic.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Friday, 7 October 2005 16:59 (twenty years ago)

I have no problem with Puma - lots of cool stuff.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:00 (twenty years ago)

puma rocks. They have a whole line of comfy yet chic shoes in an amazing rainbow of colors! TOTALLY CLASSIC.

Wiggy (Wiggy), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:08 (twenty years ago)

Puma provides barely-gainful employment to hundreds upon hundreds of southeast Asian women, and stirves to increase shareholder value by marketing a whole line of comfy yet chic shoes in an amazing rainbow of colors! TOTALLY CLASSIC.

Aimless (Aimless), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:10 (twenty years ago)

i have puma shoes. they have holes in them but i can't afford new ones. aimless, what kind of shoes are you wearing that aren't made by barely paid southeast asian women? i'd like a pair.

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:16 (twenty years ago)

one of the few brands that make sneakers that fit me, so classic.

strng hlkngtn: what does it mean? (dubplatestyle), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:17 (twenty years ago)

I'm pretty sure Aimless is a Birkenstocks/slippers kind of person.

400% Nice (nordicskilla), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:18 (twenty years ago)

rubbish for the last five years or so. those very flat foot hugging trainers with the elasticated velco tipped strap zigzagging from the side of the sole are digusting and, unfortunatley, ubiquitous as well as influential.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:18 (twenty years ago)

i have to review a sneaker book soonish. i suspect i am about to spend retarded amounts of money on new shoes.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:22 (twenty years ago)

caitlin, I hire young Inuit women to tan caribou hides by chewing on them. From these hides they make me a pair of lovely rabbit fur-lined mukluks, using seal guts for thread. I pay them in seal blubber and Ho-Hos, so it's a win-win situation all the way around. I find this so much more correct than exploiting Vietnamese women.

Aimless (Aimless), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:30 (twenty years ago)

jed, tell me what shoes to buy

400% Nice (nordicskilla), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:31 (twenty years ago)

I just cake my feet in mud first thing in the morning, let it harden, and it's off to work I go.

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:33 (twenty years ago)

Sometimes it feels like Aimless is on a constant and tireless quest to find innocent bowls of Cheerios in which he can shit.

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:34 (twenty years ago)

xxp

i'm not very good at this, adam. ive got on black & white adidas with (bling!) Gold stripes, heel and toe detail.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:36 (twenty years ago)

I detest Cheerios and all things Cheerio-related.

Aimless (Aimless), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:37 (twenty years ago)

SEE?????

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:38 (twenty years ago)

xpost WTF

I like Pumas esp. in soft color combinations of beige/pearl grey/peach, but kinda prefer my black and white Adidas right now.

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:40 (twenty years ago)

I adore my white-stripe-on-black-suede pair.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:45 (twenty years ago)

People tend to associate Cheerios with the pudgy little fingers of infants learning to feed themselves, and in their minds's eyes they imagine said infants placing the weightlessly dainty Cheerio bits into their cherubic little lips and harmless, toothless mouths. They are charmed by Cheerios.

The evil vampires who run General Mills know this about you and turn this weakness against you ruthlessly in order to gouge out gobbets of money-flesh from your innocent purses and suck on them until they are as ghostly white as haddock chunks. (Pumas are Little Leaguers compared to General Mills.)

Don't you see, people?!! Save yourselves while you can!

origami snail (origami snail), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:53 (twenty years ago)

I have Fred Flintstone feet so these things are impossible to wear. Unless youre into excruciating pain..

Stuh-du-du-du-du-du-du-denka (jingleberries), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:55 (twenty years ago)

uh oh

I wear shoes made from palm fronds stitched together with angel's hair by well-adjusted, well-compensated couples who love each other very much.

400% Nice (nordicskilla), Friday, 7 October 2005 18:00 (twenty years ago)

I eat only free-range, organically-fed, fair-trade-purchased endangered species.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Friday, 7 October 2005 18:04 (twenty years ago)

When the revolution comes, I just hope Aimless remembers how nice I have always been to him.

M. White (Miguelito), Friday, 7 October 2005 18:06 (twenty years ago)

The 'orange creamsicle' and beige color combo is very nice. Especially when there is contrasting piping.

Mihara's image of the MY-16 is of creating spike shoes for the game of football or rugby. He then combined this with a vision of an angels halo hooked around the heel tightly gripping the sole to the upper. Material: breathable air mesh upper with soft aniline leather trims and outsole with football plate style forefoot.

Puma
Rudolf Dassler started the company when he and brother, Adi Dassler fell out in 1948. Puma has continued to rival Adidas in soccer boot manufacture and supply. Golden Boot winner Eusabio (Portugal) wore Puma Kings soccer shoes in the FIFA World Cup 1966. The Puma range of boots includes moulded uppers, for tight fit to foot, combined with a range of cleat styles and designs for all ground conditions. The Shudo was introduced to coincide with the FIFA World Cup Korea Japan TM.

In my family, we all had the t-shirts when we were kids, but not the shoes.

Casuistry (Chris P), Saturday, 8 October 2005 00:53 (twenty years ago)

And actually I would get ticked off by people not in our family wearing the t-shirts, since what was the point?

Casuistry (Chris P), Saturday, 8 October 2005 00:53 (twenty years ago)

Being of an old-fashioned disposition, I must say that my wife knows who wear the t-shirts in this family.

Aimless (Aimless), Saturday, 8 October 2005 01:08 (twenty years ago)

I ASKED FOR THE FAT ONES YOU DIPSHIT

tremendoid (tremendoid), Saturday, 8 October 2005 04:37 (twenty years ago)

I have a hot pink Puma jacket that I bought for two bucks in Toronto.

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Saturday, 8 October 2005 04:38 (twenty years ago)

Most of the newish pumas = dud, although those green ones are alright. The grey ones epitomize puma's sleek designy lameness. Pumas baring a little puma on the toe are the most hated of all.

jhoshea (scoopsnoodle), Saturday, 8 October 2005 05:16 (twenty years ago)

The grey ones epitomize puma's sleek designy lameness.

Greatness! Don't dis my Pumas, man,or I'll stuff up'em up yr ass!

nathalie, a bum like you (stevie nixed), Saturday, 8 October 2005 06:51 (twenty years ago)

thats the thing.. if you go with three stripes then you HAVE to be anti puma. its a family rivalry you must keep.

howell huser (chaki), Sunday, 9 October 2005 00:26 (twenty years ago)

Probably a good idea. I have this cute Puma track jacket but I can't wear it much b/c my trainers are of the three stripe variety. (Sometimes I wear it with Camper flats, I figured that was OK.)

dar1a g (daria g), Sunday, 9 October 2005 00:48 (twenty years ago)

Um... people... you see... these are just... you can... oh, never mind.

Aimless (Aimless), Sunday, 9 October 2005 02:03 (twenty years ago)

Aimless is OTM re Cheerios.

Casuistry (Chris P), Sunday, 9 October 2005 02:42 (twenty years ago)

adidas are too flat inside and i get cramps at the end of the day if i walk around in them too much.

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Sunday, 9 October 2005 02:58 (twenty years ago)

Dud. Never liked a pair.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 10 October 2005 22:54 (twenty years ago)

me either. too skinny and delicate.
i wear pleasant plain's old black and white vans (one and a half sizes too big) because theyre flat, wide, flexy, roomy as hell and bouncy. My job has me running around for 8 hours a day and my feet never ever hurt with the vans.
I made the mistake of shelling out $100+ on a pair of Onitsuka Tigers once because they were brown and i like brown sneakers. theyre worse than pumas. skinny with soles so uncushioned you feel like youre walking barefoot but worse. pumas + tigers = poser shoes.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Tuesday, 11 October 2005 00:13 (twenty years ago)

I like the looks of some Pumas, but am above wearing animals. Synthetic-leather Asics Tigers all the way.

wow

Rumpie, Tuesday, 11 October 2005 18:47 (twenty years ago)

I wouldn't place not wearing animals above wearing animals but that's just me.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 11 October 2005 18:53 (twenty years ago)

I think I am more Puma now.

Spencer Chow, Wednesday, 30 April 2008 23:27 (eighteen years ago)
