Decent online contest for Canadians (Xbox 360)

Having already won I feel that I should let as many other people know about this as possible so that they too might experience the joys of victory.

The site is: http://www.befirsttoplay.ca

They are giving away an Xbox 360 system plus a bunch of other stuff ($700 value) every hour for the next month or so. You get PIN's to enter the draws on various products, or you can fill out a short survey on the site to get a free PIN every hour. You're only allowed to win once per household but there doesn't seem to be a limit on the # of people per household who enter, so you could create multiple accounts to increase your chances. I entered as many times as I could (eventually with 2 accounts) and it only took a few days to win. The link to get the free PIN's can be found on the Rules page.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 14:15 (twenty years ago)

wicked. i'm going to try this...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 14:18 (twenty years ago)

haven't won yet...BOOO STAN FIELDS!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 16:51 (twenty years ago)

ok. got me some doritos and entered. 30 minutes until i win! ha.

wait - so once the specific hour draw in which you entered has passed, you can't use that PIN again for the next hour(s)? i assume that's the case. boo. that's a whole lot of doritos/pepsis...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 18:32 (twenty years ago)

Dude, you can get free PINs from the Rules and Regulations page. They don't colour-code the link, cuz they'd rather you'd buy something, but it's against the law to discriminate against COKE DRINKERs.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 18:52 (twenty years ago)

I assume once you use it once you can't use it again at all. Is that right?

antexit (antexit), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

oh, new hour!
yes, only valid once, I think?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 20:16 (twenty years ago)

hey antexit i was just about to email you about this!

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 20:19 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, looks like I've got a new job.

antexit (antexit), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 20:35 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, a PIN can only be entered once. Losing entries don't carry over to the following draws either.
It's great when you finally win. They had a very similar contest last year and I ended up with a couple iPods

Stan Fields (Stan Fields), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 21:52 (twenty years ago)

anyone else find the security codes kinda hard to read?

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 21:56 (twenty years ago)

Stan, a COUPLE of iPods? How many times a day were you entering? What hours did you found worked best? I really want to get on board this thing.

antexit (antexit), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 23:18 (twenty years ago)

Last year I stopped entering after winning 2 iPods. One of them I won in the morning and the other maybe 3 weeks later just before I was going to bed. It really helps if you have someone around who can do entries or atleast claim PINs for you for hours that you're unable to. I just tried to enter as many times as I could. Sometimes I would save up PINs and try entering more than 1 at random hours but that didn't work. I don't think there's any real strategy to these things, it seems like its more just luck and persistence. There's a lengthy thread about the contest at:
http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201072

Alot of people from that forum have already won, hopefully a few people from here can too.

Stan Fields (Stan Fields), Thursday, 13 October 2005 01:39 (twenty years ago)

Has anyone else had any luck yet?

Stan Fields (Stan Fields), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 19:21 (twenty years ago)

I only entered once and didn't win. Getting the free PINs is too big a pain in the ass for me. Did you win?

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 19:23 (twenty years ago)

Nope! I've entered 100+ times and I'm getting pretty sick of doing it.

antexit (antexit), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 19:23 (twenty years ago)

I'm in the same boat as Bryan. I mean, I wouldn't mind a free Xbox, but I'm not that desperate to do this over and over and over...

But I might try a couple more times just in case.

Yes, I won before I posted about it here. I even got my "party-in-a-box" portion of the prize yesterday; a metal carrying case, Doritos/Pepsi coupons, t-shirt, pen, and other useless stuff

Stan Fields (Stan Fields), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 19:28 (twenty years ago)

I did it once an hour for a day (the day this thread went up), and I don't think I've won yet. So I quit and I will never drink Pepsi again.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 19:40 (twenty years ago)

goddamn i'm sick of entering this contest.

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 19:44 (twenty years ago)

If you win another one, Stan Fields, I'll do your taxes for you and give you a hundred buxxx.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 19:45 (twenty years ago)

i entered 12 pins last night at 4AM! I AM AN IDIOT

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 19:49 (twenty years ago)

Deal.

Stan Fields (Stan Fields), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 19:53 (twenty years ago)

Cool. I may also have to hire you to teach me to use the thing as I wouldn't have a damned clue.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 20:31 (twenty years ago)

I was entering it constantly but yesterday I read the rules and I'm ineligible :(
