I'll repeat that:

RICK MORANIS HAS A COUNTRY ALBUM OUT?!?!?

I honestly don't know what to think. Clearly, to his credit, he figures most people wouldn't either, thus titling his press piece for it 'A Country Album?' If nothing else it did remind me he didn't do a bad job at all singing in Little Shop of Horrors.

I've been watching SCTV like crazy lately. It's wonderful. I'm just happy he's happy.

Yeah, same here. As this blog notes and as I didn't realize, he's been a widower for a while and that's a terrible burden to have to carry, especially with kids.

GET A TWANG!
MORANiS

WOWEE.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 13 October 2005 14:34 (twenty years ago)

awesome!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 13 October 2005 14:45 (twenty years ago)

"it's all been allocated!"

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 13 October 2005 14:45 (twenty years ago)

I assume it's, um, a parody, him being a Canadian satirist before his Disney whore days and all. If you don't remember his loungey "Turning Japanese" or Mel Torme version of the Star-Spangled Banner from SCTV...

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 13 October 2005 14:46 (twenty years ago)

Didn't he have a character who was the host of a music video show who liked to use a lot of video effects on his own image?

k/l (Ken L), Thursday, 13 October 2005 14:48 (twenty years ago)

I think it's "goofy" w/ a little satire (see "allocated") but not necessarily parody.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 13 October 2005 14:51 (twenty years ago)

Ger-ry Todd!

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 13 October 2005 14:54 (twenty years ago)

That was Pet Clark, with "Downtown."

Does Larry the Cable Guy show up 4 hours late for his gigs?

I predict a Moranis win.

the interview is so great - it's like he just innately knows what kinds of things those guys wanted to hear about from him, without even the barest prompting at all.

when he lapsed into Ger-ry Todd I couldn't stop myself from laughing, he's so good
