Sorry, Sunday.

Just how bad was this Chris Evans vehicle last night?

"I'm not going to make this all about us, but when are you coming over to pick up the last of your stuff?"

Was there any actual entertainment in it?

Saw a brief bit of wound-licking on Parkinson, that was more than enough.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Monday, 21 November 2005 13:57 (twenty years ago)

kind of wanted to see this but it was nixed by the missus.

It was a low-price TFI Friday.

Studio audience of around 100, tops.

Interview ex-wife = 'can't get any star guests'.

And this was on ITV rather than Channel 4.

Oh yeah, and the usual "Let's get some (unfortunate) members of the public (i.e. had bad accidents recently) and throw money at them".

I read a brief TV guide puff in which Evans said something like "this is a show which confirms the Nuttiness of Planet Earth!" I figured I'd probably wasted enough of my life already.

Chris, bless 'im (I quite like the chap), mentions about getting away from having 'friends who live in houses I own'.

It does seem that these people were the ones with the ideas.

You need them back, Chris.

I watched about the first ten minutes or so and it was embarassingly bad.

Chris, bless 'im (I quite like the chap)

But he is the very Devil incarnate

I like Chris Evans in that I admire his ability to get shitloads of money for large quantities of old rope. His show, however = total bollocks that had outstayed its welcome long before TFI went away. However the fact that he can convince people to keep commissioning it anyway --> some sort of genius.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 17:41 (twenty years ago)

Wait, is the show actually called "Oh Fuck It's Awful"????

Dan (That Would Be Brilliant) Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 18:14 (twenty years ago)

It's called OFI Sunday (from which one can deduce it's short for Oh Fuck It's Sunday - following on from TFI Friday, Evans' other vehicle for craptacular "entertainment")

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 18:16 (twenty years ago)

this isnt about the superfuckable hairy baby bear who i want to fist is it?

anthony easton (anthony), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 19:13 (twenty years ago)

The only fist Avid Merrion (if you are talking about Bo Selecta, the other nadir of craptacular "popular" "entertainment") deserves is a Tyson-esque hook right in his smug twatty face.

In other words, no, it's not.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 19:17 (twenty years ago)

I know lot's of people who want to fist Chris Evans, but probably not in the manner you're thinking of Anthony.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 19:18 (twenty years ago)

Theorry Henry (Enrique), Monday, 28 November 2005 14:29 (twenty years ago)
