A guy just died in the street outside my apartment

apparently, some kids started shooting at each other in the lobby of the building connected to mine (we share a courtyard). one of them got hit, managed to stumble out of the door and onto the sidewalk, and then fell over dead. my landlord told me about it this morning (i stayed at my gf's in manhattan). there are still cops loitering and, like, ten hotline posters hanging up. i live off of Church Ave right near Ocean Parkway, and it never really seemed too dangerous to me, but, damn. maybe this isn't too big of a deal, but i've been really weirded out all day. the oddest thing is that i wouldn't have even noticed if no one had told me.
