1. High energy, pro-gear drummer needed for eclectic, in-your-face new band... flakes need not apply.

andy --, Thursday, 10 November 2005 19:55 (twenty years ago)

Why does he have to be a Gear! fan?

StanM (StanM), Thursday, 10 November 2005 19:57 (twenty years ago)

I despise the word "eclectic" for myriad reasons.

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 10 November 2005 19:57 (twenty years ago)

I'm not a big fan of "myriad" either.

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 10 November 2005 19:57 (twenty years ago)

2. Influences: REM, U2

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 10 November 2005 19:58 (twenty years ago)

Its better than finding a way to toss "incendiary" in there. You've got to admit, this could have been a lot worse.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 10 November 2005 19:59 (twenty years ago)

Our influences include everything from Seal and Sade to Kreator,Primus and Voivod and EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN...

andy --, Thursday, 10 November 2005 19:59 (twenty years ago)

Even more fun, do a CL search for "funky" or "groove"

kingfish orange creamsicle (kingfish 2.0), Thursday, 10 November 2005 20:00 (twenty years ago)

Influes: Metallica, Radiohead, Rush, Pantera. Double bass skills a plus.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 10 November 2005 20:01 (twenty years ago)

hair and attitude a must

sexyDancer (sexyDancer), Thursday, 10 November 2005 20:03 (twenty years ago)

4. Imagine the funk of Janes, the tunes of XTC, the chunk of Living Color, and the lyrical finesse of Jewel and you'll have an idea of what we sound like.

andy --, Thursday, 10 November 2005 20:03 (twenty years ago)

We like to play really hard but we have plenty of soft mellow tunes too

kingfish orange creamsicle (kingfish 2.0), Thursday, 10 November 2005 20:03 (twenty years ago)

andy --, Thursday, 10 November 2005 20:05 (twenty years ago)

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 10 November 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

I take it that this is not in ILM because people there would argue about whether musicians are really wanted?

moley, Thursday, 10 November 2005 20:09 (twenty years ago)

I love Julie.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 10 November 2005 20:10 (twenty years ago)

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 10 November 2005 20:12 (twenty years ago)

I play bass. A lot. Fast, funky, aggressive, and especially weird. I am looking for other people to jam with for fun and to come up with some new ideas. I love to improv, so sessions devoted to that is right up my alley. Drummer, guitarist, french horn player, DJ, whatever....I'll jam with you. It just has to be a little weird.

I am in band right now so please don't write me asking me to join yours, although I will come out and jam with you. I pick up quick so it could be fun.

If you would like to hear a sample of my playing then go to

I play everything on that track, but only do the bass justice, or so I like to believe. (The instrumental part in the middle of the song is my favorite part)

Drop me a line if interested.

Keep it ugly.

MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORTATION

monkeybutler, Thursday, 10 November 2005 20:15 (twenty years ago)

Our old drummer had two kids and couldn't play out... please be committed to practicing 4+ times a week. We are pro-gear, pro-attitute, please be the same.

andy --, Thursday, 10 November 2005 20:34 (twenty years ago)

Does "pro-gear" mean that you are simply in favor of playing with actual amplifiers, or does it mean that you only use actual amplifiers designed for those who are not merely hobbyists?

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 10 November 2005 21:45 (twenty years ago)

gold guitar cords

sexyDancer (sexyDancer), Thursday, 10 November 2005 21:57 (twenty years ago)
