“What distinguishes Peter Drucker from many other thought leaders in my mind is that he cared not just about how business manages its resources, but also how public and private organizations operate morally and ethically within society”

Hmmmm. He wasn't in a boy band...didn't dye his hair...didn't hate free markets...don't think you'll get much mileage on this thread from IlXors. Of course you can use this thread for a poll: how many ILXors have an MBA? "Huh....?"

Do I need an MBA to care how public and private organizations operate morally and ethically within society?

I think I once read one of his management books. Can't remember a thing about it though.

From "Barcelona":

TED
Selling is more than a job one is cut out or not cut out for. It's a whole culture, applying the insights of Carnegie and Bettger.

DICKIE
We all like Carnegie and Bettger. Sales is the heart of any corporation. Have you read Drucker?

TED
I saw that as the cult of management.

DICKIE
No, Drucker's terrific. Read him. Here. The insight in this book is incredible.

TED
I'll get it at Kroch's when I'm back.

DICKIE
Keep it. I've memorized it and it's easier for me to go to Kroch's when I get back.
